Quit Peeking

This is a shot that I really love personally. This was taken in my front yard's lily bed. It is an Asiatic Lily that was just starting to open up. This is an almost voyueristic appearing shot. Like you are peeking through a door or window etc to see this beauty. I love getting photos from all sorts of angles and what not. This is my favorite photo of anything to date. Do you go or look for those one of a kind shots when taking photos? Do you take many shots of the same thing from various angles? Do you hope to get that "Million Dollar" shot? I try to get shots that are not a common view etc as they seem to appeal to the humans eyes and appeal. So what is your opinion on this photo?

Yes, that's nice. I like to take pictures too, and one time I took my boys, when they were younger, to a nice spot where there were lots of flowers. I had them posed perfectly looking right at the camera. I was just ready to press the button when a car went by and beeped.
My boys knew they were posed and could not move, but both of them kept still but just turned their eyes to the side to see who was in the car that startled them. That was just the moment I snapped the picture and it has been hanging on the wall ever since. That was my 'million dollar' shot, and it all happened by accident.

Cute.
Do you have a photo of it to show here possibly?
I'd love to see it.

Ahh! I can't believe it. I just looked for it on my external AND in my online album and it's not there! It is ONLY hanging on the wall. If my house had burned down I would have lost it!
(I am obsessed with saving pictures. Can you tell? Lol.)
I'll take it down and scan it and show it to you. Although my boys will not be happy if they find out I posted a picture of them for the whole mylot world to see!
It might take me awhile. I got a new printer/scanner and I didn't quite get the hang of using the scanner part yet.
I did something stupid. I bought a new HP printer/scanner because the printer part of my Lemark broke. So I threw the whole Lexmark away!...not realizing I would not like the scanner part of the HP. I could have been using the Lexmark to scan and the HP to print! Dum dum dum dum!

I hope this doesn't post twice. I had it all ready to post and something weird happened and took me back to the homepage.
Well, Here it is!
I'm sure it won't look as precious to you as it does to me.
This was way back before I had digital camera, as I'm sure you can tell.

Well thank you very much. I am not a professional. I use a Canon PowerShotA540 digital camera is all. I love taking photos of my garden and flowers daily.

I use the Macro feature for these types of close-ups. It took awhile until I learned the ways of using it to get great shots such as this and the ones of bees etc on flowers. I love my cheap little digital camera. Thanks also.

I love lilies of all kinds and have taken a number of shots myself when they are in bloom in the neighborhood. Think I told you one time...just a few blocks from me it's like a different world...private homes with gardens galore...I talk a "hike" with my camera gear and am in bliss with my camera...I think the real million dollar shots for me are the ones where I can not only photography a beautiful flower, but one that a butterfly lands on...perfect!

That is a shot I want to get as well. I've caught them on my veggies etc but not yet on a Lily or other flowers in my yard. We have a neighbor lady that has a huge garden with many flowers of all sorts of varieties. Maybe I should get some photos taken there soon?

This is a great macro shot!
As a thumbnail, i thought it was a butterfly peaking. hehehe
It's nice. I don't usually take macro shots since I'm not good at it. I love taking candid shots of friends though. ahehhehe
Keep it up

A lot of my flower photos are macrops. I seem to
do fairly well using that setting for these great
close ups. Thanks also.

I try to get shots from different angles, as long as my subject isn't moving!
I took more pics of my baby tomatoes this morning, and also some of a flower/weed that I can't identify. I'll probably post them later.
This is a great shot ...

No I am not really that much of a photographer, its fun to take pictures of monuments and that is about it for me, so I do not really go for that million dollar shot. But I think the photo is very nice, that was some nice timing to get it just opening up, amazing shot.

Thanks bunches. I also take photos of other things like monuments water etc. Not just flowers. But that, as of late, seems to be my forte of photos.

that is an interesting photo. a unique view.
i'm not a photographer but if i was, it think i'd take a lot of pictures of clouds and my ferrets. that alone would provide me with many interesting and happy photos. but i truly enjoy looking at flowers in other's photos. they can be uplifting to view.
