I worked at a quizno's for two years and they drove me INSANE! I hated how they wasted so much money and then complained about not making any money! Here are some things that they should have tried:
1) When you use a tomato slicer the top and bottom pieces get thrown away, when they have perfectly good tomato around the core on the top and bottom. Why not cut up those pieces to use for the salads, instead of cutting up whole tomatos for salads? Tomatos are expensive! -Saves money on tomatos
2) Bread ends. They throw away any piece of bread that is too small to make a small sub, but of course if you look at the pieces and cut off the bread ends (round part that no one wants) from two pieces, and put them together, 99% of the time it makes a small sub!! You are going to cut the bread in half in the end anyways! -Saves money on bread!
3) Do not hire family. They expect you to pay them more than everyone else, and they never pay for their lunch because they expect it to be free! I was the only person there not part of their CLAN! Sometimes their granddaughters ate breakfast and lunch and dinner for FREE! -Saves money on everything!
4) Ask people if they want a knife with their salad, don't assume that they do, most people will just throw it away! What a waste! -Saves money on plasticware!
5) Do not give police men 50% off of their food! That is basically paying them to eat there! Make it 20% off and then on Sundays 50% off or something! -Saves money because you are not spending your profit!
6) Advertise! More people will come if they know where you are! -Makes money in the long run!
7) Don't have a TV in the backroom. This keeps employees from working and eats up electricity! -Saves money on electricity and overtime pay!
8) Don't talk customers heads off, they don't want to know about your life story, they want food and a "have a good day" with it! -Saves peoples times and doesn't drive them away!
9) Don't look at someone in disgust when they ask for something wierd on their sandwhich, they won't want to come back to you! -Gets better customer feedback!
10) Don't slouch around talking to all your friends at the tables, making the customers wait on you to finish your conversation about how drunk you got last night! They don't want to hear it! -Gets better customer feedback!
Don't get me started on my job at Home Depot!

hmmm you do have some good points there maybe you should become a manager of a business although I don't think I would be happy finding the end bit of a tomato in my food as I for some reason always throw those bits out too...
