For about the past year, i been reading nonstop but all of a sudden it doesn't seem to interest me. I have a few books i want to read but i read the first few pages and am like ugh don't wanna. I was reading about two books a week. Now has anyone else gone through this?? I have a friend worried something is wrong with me because i always have a book in my hand and now i don't.

I sometimes feel the same "burn-out" coming on when I read. I read mostly history and just about anything else that I can learn something from. But I read a lot slower. It may take me a couple months to read a book depending on what it's about and how long it is. When I start feeling a little burned-out I read some fiction to get a break from the "serious" stuff.

Reading is a good habit to have but there have been several times in my life when I didn't read anything, and I always came back to books. I think you will also, in time, and it will do no harm for you to have a break and enjoy doing other things.
When there are interesting people and exciting things happening in my own life I really don't feel any interest in fictional people and imaginary events.

Sometimes I'd feel really bored with reading, especially, like you said, continuously reading for some time. I'd just take a rest from reading, maybe a week or two.
Somehow I'd drift back to the books - it has been my first and only serious 'love' ! So happy reading!

lol yeah, I've been burnt out of reading too!! :)
It happened usually when I would 'speed-read' a lot of books in a few days... (usually, if I just returned from a library & was a bit stressed, yeah.. I read a lot to relieve stress too..) Or got fed up with reading & wanted to do a bit of 'living', too.. :)
Basically, I always returned to reading after a while.. Sometimes I just didn't like the books at hand, so new ones were necessary... :)
I had a few books I wanted to read, but couldn't, too.. (So I usually start reading in the library/bookstore to see if I like it..) Some books are just better left returned.. lol Why bother reading something you don't like unless you absolutely have to? (or get paid for it?:)) I read for pleasure, when reading gives me none, I do something else..
What you can do instead: Solitaire or another pretty mindless game (RL or on computer/online:)) sounds stupid, yeah, but it actually works to take one's mind off things... The sillier, the better! (at least for me, I have no patience with complex games..) You already know about forum posting.. it de-stresses & relaxes me immensely too.. :) Another thing is journalling.. just writing down my troubles physically & venting.. lol & then brainstorming on them, & on solutions.. :) Or just taking a walk, or a hot shower.. or mylotting.. :) Possibilities are endless.. :)
