I miss mine too, even though I will be seeing her tomorrow, and she will cook a meal for me, and hug me, and kiss me... and I'm 50+ and she's 80+... she'll always be my Mom.
I miss my father sometimes. He passed away last year, after a long illness. But I remember all the loving things he was, all the loving things he did, all the fun he was, the good times, and the bad... but that is always part of everyone's life.
What my mom taught me, though, was that when I am ill, I "be good" to myself as best I can. I am lucky I still have my mom... for now. But she is always in my heart, mind, and soul.... as is my father.

Yes I guess all of us who grew close to our mothers feels the same. I for one misses my mom not because of the things she had done but I know she is suffering from a disease and I cannot do anything about it since I live here in Manila and she is in the provinces with my father. they are both retired from work and they live alone there. As much as I would want to have them in my home I could not since I too live in a small house with my family. And besides they are more comfortable there in the provinces than live here in Manila. Although almost every month they do come here in Manila for the medical check ups every time they live us my heart just becomes sad and lonely again. Being a parent myself there are times that we like to go back in time where we just depended on our parents but we cannot just do that anymore. Just relishing the past is enough I guess in this situation.

I know exactly what you mean, saludes! My Mum used to be lovely when I was sick. I remember having chickenpox when I was about 10, and having to stay in bed for quite a long time. My Mum used to put the radio in my room so I could listen to it (we didn't have TV in those days!) and I'd read and have special treats to eat and drink. When I'm sick now, nobody takes much notice! I'm so sorry you're sick and miss your Mum ... hope you feel better soon.
