How do you treat your half-brother / half-sister?

Do you have a half-brother or half-sister? When did you know about him or her? Have you met? What's your first reaction? How do you treat them? I had a half-brother from my father's side. I've only know about him the day when I first saw him. I was seventeen back then. He came to look for my father to announce that he was about to get married. I was very happy to know that he was my brother because I've heard so much about him during my high school years. He also graduated from the same school as mine. I treated him as my own brother whether he is only in my father's side.
