How much 3G iPhone cost?

i have one old iPhone, and now 3G iPhone is coming. I wonder if it is necessary to get a new one? How much i have to pay? only $199 or more?

It really depends...First Apple told us that the 16GB iphone will cost $299 and the 8GB iphone will cost $199. Sounds cheap right? But there's a catch...If you buy iphone in those prices you will have a lock-in period with AT&T for 2 years. But if you will buy the iphone (only the unit), without the AT&T subscription they say the 16GB cost around $699 and the 8GB will cost $499. Its much the same price with the first generation iphone when it first came out.

I was heard that if i get iPhone from At&t, I must pay nearly $500 in 2 years. That is too expansive
