I haven't touch a violin for all my life but theres 1 at my home now haha.. Can give me some tips? I need to know the correct posture and the correct way to use the bow. I also need to know the notes of the open strings. How do I press my fingers on a violin? Violin doesn't have frets unlike guitar o_O And does tuning of a violin similar to guitar tuning? And can anyone recommend me some easy violin pieces to practice? n Hehe.. lots of questions..

I'd recommend either taking a class (if you're still in college where classes are only 1 unit generally) or buying a good book (such as Strictly Strings or All for Strings).
The open strings starting from the right (thinnest) string should be tuned: E A D G on a standard violin.
Violins don't have the same tuning mechanisms as a guitar, instead they have either just a peg at the top which must be tightened or loosened for tuning, or they have a peg at the top for tuning plus fine tuners mounted on the tail-piece. The fine tuners are helpful, but not essential.

That's awesome. The violin is a great instrument. I used to play when I was nine, but I don't remember too much now. The best posture is by standing as tall as you can. You have to make sure that the violin is placed directly under your chin. And it helps to keep your elbow way out there. I don't know about the notes, so you have to look that up. When I first started I listened basic simple songs like Mary Had A Little Lamb, Happy Birthday, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I hopes this helps and good luck to you.
