Do you think car makers are helping people by making cars that are better on fuel or do you think they are just using this as a gimmick to get people to buy the newer vehicles?

I know and believe the oil companies and the government and the auto makers are in it together. As a auto tech I can vouch and say cars purposly get poor mpg. This makes us dependant on oil to survive. Yes they are providing cars with higher mpg's but there is still alot of gas wasted out the tailpipe. All this E85 stuff is a joke since it takes 1 gallon of oil to make 1.3 gallons of E85 using americas corn. We need to go hydrogen, dont believe we are going to run out of water anytime soon.
