I used to be quite active but now for some reason I've gone quiet and can't be bother talking to people. There's a thing of which I've had developed is that I only say "Hi" to people that I see everyday and to the ones that I really like and want to talk to.
I know quite alot of people myself back then but now when I see them, I don't say "Hi" and worse, I pretend I didn't know them. I know it's rude but sometimes I just don't feel like saying "Hi" or just not in the mood. The furtherest I properly go is give them a smile then walk away without saying anything.
So, you ever bother to say "Hi" to your friends passing by?

It is completely unUgandan to pass anybody you meet or anybody passing near you without a word of hi! Infact you quickly earn a very bad reputation and most cases, they say that you have taken the impersonal western culture! I do hear that in Europe and America, people are so busy that standing to greet a stranger looks like wasting money-even neighbors may not know each other by name! That is unthinkable in my country-we like the spirit of community and we will never pass a stranger by without a word of hi unless we have assesed that such stranger could be dangerous!

Yes, if I recognize you I will say Hi. I have had people whom came out of school with me, see me, and did not utter a Hi or one word. They knew me, and I knew them. I thought that was really mean. But, I usually am the one to speak. Your reasons are logical ones, theirs are totally unexcusable.

Lolz...I thought I'm the worst. But yeah I sometimes do hint to people that I saw them somewhere and they just say "I was too lazy to say hi" or "Can't be bother."
But I don't take it heavily. I will say they are mean if you wave to them and they don't wave back when you are like 5m away from them!
