Ok, So I KNOW I could stand to lose 20-40 pounds. I got on the scale the other day and I'm at 203 :-(. Because I'm 5'7", I don't look 203, but I damn sure feel it.
A friend of mine is getting married next month (8/9) and my retarded butt ordered the dress a 14...when I SHOULD of ordered it a 16! I NEED TO LOSE SOME WEIGHT.
I have noooooooooooooooooooooooooo motivation :-(. I know all the benefits of exercising, eating healthy, losing weight, but I don't feel like it.
HELP!

You could try working out with a friend, you can motivate each other.
Try working out to music you love, this will also help you to get through the time. I have had trouble eating healthier as there are a lot of things I love to eat that are pretty healthy but yet have a lot of calories in them.
I suggest you start by taking smaller meals, not down to one pea but just one spoonfull less every few days so your body can get ajusted.
Don't start working out a lot right away, this will only injure your body!
When I started out I was told 20 minutes every other day, I do this on a crosstrainer I have at home. No other people, no time needed to get to the gym, I can just hop on. I bought it second hand for about 100 euros and it's great.
A gym will cost you even more, so this is about 2 or 3 months membership but I can use it every day without leaving the house.
I did join the gym for grouplessons later on as I like stepaerobics a lot.
If you like I could try and motivate you over the internet, but that's pretty hard. People in your direct invironment can motivate you more easily and most important is to learn and motivate yourself. Babysteps at a time and reward yourself every time, preferbly with non-food items.
I got myself a new my little pony for my collection when I didn't touched candy for a week, this was my first goal. And after a while I could set my goal to losing 4 kilo's and I did, it took my 3 weeks but I got there, and I bought a nice top I had been wanting forever and it fit and looked better.
Losing weight slowly is better as it won't gain back so fast.
This is my last tip if you need any help let me know and good luck!

I would definatly suggest getting your own crosstrainer if you income allows you. There are good second hand crosstrainers out there and exercising in your own home feels a lot more safe and secure and it's a smaller step to your own study or wherever you put the thing then to the gym :)
I can only say: stop making plans and take action (sometimes it helps to not think but just go out there and do it ;)

Hey there my friend! Well, we have the same height. When I was in college, I weighed at 252 lbs. tops. I was having a hard time. during that time, I motivated myself to attract girls. I was so immature, I wanted to get thin so women would go out with me. I didn't care about anything else. Not even health. I ended up losing about 90 lbs. after just 4 months. I went down to 160-165 lbs. I was thin but I wasn't looking and feeling very good. I got real sick.
With that, I gained almost everything back a year ago. I weighed in, within the last year, 244 lbs tops. This time though, what helped me get motivated was my family. I really wanted to be healthy for them. I want them to have me longer as I was really having health issues and I don't want them to lose me early. As of now, I'm at 202 lbs. and is continuing to go down.
Think of the people you love as well. It would boost your motivation by a significant amount. Take care!

Thanks as well mare! Yeah, my weight was a very big deal for me back then. I'd really punish myself if I ate just one slice of bread. My worst torture to myself was walking 8 kilometers a day for 2 weeks, in addition to my gym and jogging. I lost 25 lbs just on the first week. I was exhilarated at first until I got sick. Now, I'm feeling good. 10-15 lbs steady per month. Take care!

Hi Mare, You have to do it, no one can motivate you except yourself..LOL! When you will start now, I know it will be easy to do it everyday..I have tried that and surely, starting was hard and now I am doing it..Dancing and following my DVD everyday, less fatty food and less carbo since I love rice! Go girl, you can do it!

I want to get into a regular routine of walking everynight and incorporating my weights...once that becomes second nature I want to start doing my Tae-Bo video and other weights I have at home :-) I'm determined now to lose at least 20% by December. 2009 is NOT going to catch me overweight.
