It seems to be one of the most watched things on TV these days. I personally can't see the point in it. Do you watch it? Whats so interesting about it?

I have a perfectly good tin of paint in the garage that I could watch dry if I ever became so bored that I felt drawn to watch reality TV. Big Brother for example - Why would anyone want to watch a bunch of 'wannabes' sleeping for hours on end?? .... why would they want to spend time and money phoning to vote who gets evicted?? who cares??? 'Reality' TV(a misnomen at the outset if you ask me... which you did) is cheap to make, the producers are laughing all the way to the bank as they cash in on voyeurism. I feel the same way about 'celebrity' gossip mags. (I wont even start on the term 'celebrity'....)

I am self-admittedly a reality tv show follower - from Survivor to the Apprentice to the Mole to the Amazing Race... I don't like the ones where people try to compete for a bachelor/bachelorette... I follow reality tv like many people follow sports competitions, with an interest in the strategies that the players will use to put themselves out on top. Sometimes it works in their favor; sometimes it blows up in their faces. Aside from strategy, one show that I have found particularly inspirational is The Biggest Loser. Watching these people go through a very rough experience with those trainers has motivated me on more than one occasion to go out and do something (ie, get up in the morning and go running on my treadmill...) Thanks for the thread!

I watch a few of them. I faithfully watched Rock of Love 1 and 2. I watch the bachelor and bachelorette depending on who the 'star' is. I really enjoy all the home improvement ones like trading spaces and any thing on HGTV. I hate the dancing and singing ones. I like the food ones such as Hell's Kitchen but don't make it a point to watch - if its on and I catch it great if not thats okay too. I also enjoy one on food network thats a cake making one. People compete and win 10K. They come up with some awesome cakes. I guess it depends on what your calling a reality show. I mean there are so many different ones. So many different types.

I would have to admit that from time to time I get reeled into the old reality show phenomenon. Today there are just too many to even mention. It seems like that is all that is ever on anymore. I do not have cable television as of now due to financial issues, however, the few stations that I do get in consist of course of reality tv. I find some to be interesting. I am kind of into the show about people taking polygraph tests. Other than that I like tv dramas such as House. I also like comedy. I think that the people really into reality television might just be wanting to step outside the box for awhile and take a peek into other real people.
