I don't watch TV, but I enjoy watching TV shows on DVD. So far I have watched Lost, House M.D., Smallville, Bones and Heroes. I've also started watching Dexter and has Roswell in queue. My tastes usually run towards sci-fi, thrillers, and drama. I'm not big on reality TV shows though. So, I'm asking my mylot friends to give me some recommendations on which shows I should start adding in my list. Thanks in advance.

Have you ever watched any of the old Twilight Zone shows. Some are kind of hokey by todays standards but they are, in my opinion, still worth watching.

One of my favorite shows I'm watching right now on DVD is "Weeds". I didn't think I would like it that much, but I'm really enjoying it. I'm also a big "Gilmore Girls" fan. Not that this would be your taste, but they do have all seven seasons out on DVD.

I will soon order on the v.o.d (view on demand)the series "Entourage" season number 3. It is a fun series about the life of mark wolberg who is not playing there but is the producer. When I see it I can not stop, I think I am going to see the all periods of the season in only 1-2 days.

I love watch tv shows on dvd because it is a massive time saver and you can watch as many or as little episodes you want in one sitting. It's not necessary to wait one full week before you find out what happens next on the show. Also, during the summer hiatus when there's only reruns and reality shows on tv, it's a great time to catch up on series that you wouldn't otherwise have given a chance during regular season. If you like Smallville and Roswell, I think you would enjoy watching Veronica Mars. It is a teenaged detective in Neptune, California solving crimes weekly, but there is also an overarching mystery that encompasses the entire season that she has to try to solve as well. The writing is smart-alecky and witty and the acting is superb. There are three seasons in total but the first two seasons were the best. As well, they say that if you like Veronica Mars, you will also love Buffy (or is it if you love Buffy, you'll love Veronica Mars.) Regardless, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin off show, Angel, is one of my all-time favorite shows. With great script, a big-bad enemy every season, and fantastic characters, you'll get hooked! There is great continuity between the seasons and things that happen in the second season may be referred to in the sixth. So it's good to watch it in order. For Buffy - you kind of have to suffer through the first two seasons though before it really picks up. Buffy is seven seasons long and Angel is five seasons. If you like thrillers/scifi, I'd also recommend watching Supernatural. It's like a mini-horror movie every week. The writing style can be cheesy and so can the acting, but it's actually quite good. There have been some episodes that have actually scared the pants off of me. There are two seasons on dvd right now. 24 is a series that was kind of forced upon me and when I popped in the first dvd, I ended up watching 12 episodes that day. It is a very addictive show and a neat concept in that each episode is one real-time hour so 24 episodes of one season make up 24 hours in one day. It is an action packed series, with so many twists and turns, you never know who's good and who's bad. It's about the CTU (Counter-terrorist Unit) in LA and what they have to go through to try to avert certain disasters. Sometimes, they can't avoid the disasters and bad things happen in the city/world. It's great! If you happen to start any of these series, it should keep you busy well until regular season starts up again. Happy tv watching.

Try Doctor WHo and Torchwood. If you liked Bones, you'll liked NCIS as well. And I wouldn't be myself if I didn't pimp Stargate franchise :) Stargate sg1, stargate atlantis and two dvd movies :) but there is a LOT of seasons, so it's only up for your consideration :) I love my stargate :) Firefly is awesome too :)

Have you ever watched Ghost Hunters? Its on the SciFi channel. Its one of my favorite shows. I also like to watch Naked Archaelogist on the History channel. First 48 Hours is a pretty good crime show too. It shows real detectives in cities trying to solve murder cases during the first 48 hours.

One of my favorites is Monk. The show airs on USA and returns with new episodes this month. Its entertaining and Monk solves crimes. I have already purchased many seasons. My favorite show is Perry Mason. There are no new episodes, as this is an old show with court cases and Perry Mason is based on real cases that Erle Stanley Gardner solved over his career. He lived in my area and I enjoy seeing the offices that he worked in so many years ago.

Well since you like sci-fi you've probably already watched all the seasons of The X-Files. If not those are really great. I would also check out the show Supernatural, which now airs on the CW. It is an excellent sci-fi show.

I saw the first X-Files movie and I like it. I'm not sure how I will take this latest one because it has been a long time since I've seen any X-Files episode, and my memory of it is starting to be hazy.

The last season is kinda just OK, but make sure you check out the X-Files movie they did. I think it was 1998. It was really good too.

Sounds like you're into medical shows. A funny one would be Malcom in the Middle, its not medical. Torchwood, or Dharma & Greg, that ones about relationships. The Profiler, or Stargate, hope those choices help you cure your DVD fix.

I would recommend Strong Medicine, Doogie Howser, M.D., ER, or Numb3rs. Numb3rs is one of my personal favorites. You've mentioned a few crime scene shows, so this would probably be right up your alley. Just a sidenote- Burn Notice and In Plain Sight are shows on TV right now that you might enjoy.
