Not at all. It's the exact same concept used in the TV show "Monk", which is one of my favorites. Basically, i's trying to teach about OCD while still making it funny, which is the same as Borat. I think that the image of Borat was hurt, though by Sasha Baron Cohen (?), since he's played so many rediculous parts in the past. It made the movie seem even less serious.

Borat wasn't my type of humor, but I know that he sent out to make the most offensive movie he could have possible made. That's why I liked it-he broke every taboo possible and made fun of everyone. He did a lot of it anonymously to get a genuine reaction from the public. I also noticed that he went to areas where people didn't know the character as Borat was actually something Sasha Cohen was known to do as part of a routine.

No I dont think that borat was wrong. There are a lot of shows and movies that make fun of peoples religion or nationality so they would have to be wrong to. I did find borat pretty boring and not that funny dont know why everyone else loved that movie I just dont find it that funny maybe if I watched it a second time I would find it funny.

Borat may not be everyones bowl of soup. I've seen clips and even though the clips may be funny on one level, they could offeng others on a different level.
Especially when you get to the religion. But, that's what makes money right. Offend enough people and you're made for life! *lol*
