I have been with my current girlfriend now for a little short of 8 months, we met while i was still living and working in Scotland albeit I then had to move back to England so it was another 7 months before we actually got together. Have been back as often as I can afford to but it only seems to be about every couple of months and its always to her's. she's recently graduated from uni and is applying for jobs etc and right now I feel like I am being shut out, I know I haven't been a brilliant boyfriend recently (I missed her birthday and her graduation) and have also been putting off surgery which has made me a tad irritable (although i haven't let it take over how i behave towards people) but now it just feels like we are drifting apart. she is going to get an amazing job and I'm stuck working in a newsagents trying to save up enough money for us to make a life together, she hardly ever replies to texts anymore and they are normally just single sentences. I love her more than anything and would do anything for her, i just don't know what i should do.

good day. You have to talk to her and prepare yourself to any eventuality. long distance relationship tends to fail specially when the foundation like 8 months duration would not hold much happy memories and intimacies to hold it together, sad but that's the way it is. Prepare to talk her, plan it like it will be the last time you'll ever talk to her and let's hope that it's not. Good luck bro if you love her take the risk and probably the pain but if there is a glimmer of hope, you know it's worth it specially for the one you truly love. Good luck and God speed.

It's time you had a talk with her. Explain some things like your job problem and stuff. Tell her how you feel, let her know how much she means to you. If you let her think she doesn't mean much to you, you're going to lose her. Don't let this end without trying. You don't want to lose her, do you?
