I went through denial and then anger. I was so used to being completely independent that having to have others in my life to help care for me was very hard. I loved my job and had to give it up.
The changes were very difficult but I must say I am a much better person because of it. I now know what is important in life. I value those around me and take time to let them know it.
Physically, I get up each day and do what the Lord lets me and the rest can wait. I know I am where I am supposed to be and doing the best I can.

I don't know it depends on exactly what disease it is. Some life longs diseases do not have to be that bad. I do not know that I can honestly answer this question until it happens and hopefully it will not.
