Im not too good with this whole computer thing, but i have my laptop and it just began to run slower than it did when i first got it and i was just wondering if it is because of some of the things that i downloaded on the hard drive, and if so if i delete the things i do not use anymore will it improve the performance of my laptop. so if you have any ideas please respond. Thank you.

Don't just delete programs you're not using anymore, go to the Control Panel if you're running Windows and uninstall them. You should also defrag your computer once in awhile and clear out your internet history and cookies. You can do all of that from the Control Panel, too, and if you're not running virus software, I suggest that you get some and make sure you don't have any viruses, spyware or adware on your computer.

trying running some programs like spyware doctor, avg, spybot search and destroy. maybe you have just some minor bugs that the programs should get rid of it. the data in your hard drive shouldnt affect how fast your computer runs. how old is your computer?
updating some drivers could help too
