I've heard several different recommendations of how much water you should drink each day. I also have a few friends who refuse to drink just straight water. How much water do you drink during the day? Do you think it is enough? Do you ever drink straight water? I tend to drink about 2 or 3 large cups full of water or lemonade per day. Then sometimes I drink more during meals and whatnot. How about you?

Its never too late to start getting fit this summer. I used to drink about as much pop as you did, but I quit a few years ago. I can honestly say I feel much better than when I drank so much.

I drink a bottle of water when I'm at the gym and this is gona sound strange but if I drink water from a bottle (tap water) I will drink more than I will if its in a cup or glass! Anyway I usually drink a good couple bottles a day and in the summer drink loads of squash as after a while I find water boring. I usually take some water to bed as well, I don't think I drink enough of it a day but I do drink a bit so am not over worried! I also encourage my son to drink water, he takes it to school and prefers it to juice at times.

That is interesting. I've never heard of drinking more out of a bottle than out of a glass. I have filled up bottles with tap water for the convenience though. Taking water to school is a good idea for your son. I had several friends in high school who would carry around a gallon of water all day. They were mainly athletes, but a few of them swore they felt better at practice if they just kept constantly drinking from their water jug.

Work is definitly a good place to drink a lot especially if you work outside. I spend a lot of time on the baseball field so I drink probably 1 1/2-2 gallons a day during season or training. It isn't nearly as easy to drink a lot at home though, I agree with you there.

I find myself drinking more water during the summer months as well. It really helps to cool me down when I come from outside.

It varies on what I'm doing. I like to have a glass of water every now and then but I probably don't end up drinking quite as much as I should. Come to think of it, I should probably start making an effort to drink more water and see if it makes me generally healthier. I suppose on average I drink about 250ml of plain water a day but there are plenty of other things which contain liquid. Coffee, milk in cereal and stuff, fruit juice in fruit...

You have a good point. There is so much water in other liquids. I try not to drink any soft drinks or anything like that. When I'm at home, I just switch between lemonaide and water. That way I can make sure I get enough.

It really depends on how much exercise you do to determine how much water you need a day. I'm very active so I usually drink about 8 large glass fulls a day. I barely ever drink pop, Gatorade, or any other sugary drink.

I'm very active as well. 8 large glass fulls a day is very good. I try to stay away from the cokes and Gatorade and all, but every now and then I give in.

I drink about 5 or 6 8 oz. glasses of water every day. I also have crystalite lemonade but I don't think that counts as water but some people consider it water. That doesn't include the beverages I also have, like juice with my breakfast, sugar-free soda with my lunch and milk with my supper and sometimes during the day I have iced coffee or hot coffee or hot tea.

People should drink at least 8 large cups a day. I read this from most of book for health. I think little people really drink too much like 8 large cups. Those article say that this can make us skin good, and good to our health. I 'm about to drink 2 to 3 large cups every day. I drink the plain water.

the average person should drink somewhere around 1/2 gal-1 gal of water depending on your weight. (coming from the dr that my husband was just at today)
