There are sayings like " a family that eats together stays together" and a family that prays together stays together. Make sure that all the family eats atleast one meal together. They should interact with each other during that time.
Try and make them mingle and have family outings where they can have fun together. When they have fun together they will bond more closely to one another.
Cheers

thank you . the meal thing used to be one of my biggest things like you said but now with the older ones working it seems to no longer be that special time. however i will pray more, and i think a planned trip might be a great thing.

hi, sprmm, so glad that you have so many children and a big family. i have little experience in it. but i do think to keep close relationship with children needs you chatting with them everyday, just like friend. and also sometimes think the things on the foot of the children, not just as a mum always. as a mom, i also hope my child could be my friend and talk to me whenever he wants to talk.
hope you enjoy your family life.

We have a blended family and not all live here but we do have the 18 year old and the 5,3 and 1 1/2 year olds. It is very hard and too often we still feel like 2 separate families I think the easiest way is to make sure the older ones interact with the younger ones...and not just babysitting because that can make them resentful. Try a family game night. Not just board games and maybe not even inside games, but team style games that everyone can play to some degree....just be sure to divide the teams up so that the "bigs" and "littles" are fairly equally distributed. A game involving tossing things or even a two-man hide and seek game could work out well.
