I kept getting a warning box: "connection manager" on my screen whenever my computer is connected to the internet. It kept asking me to choose a network connection but infact, I am already connected to the internet.
Can anyone help me with this?
Is it a spyware or any malicious software that is causing this problem?

i'm guessing you are currently using broadband, but used dial-up before.. if thats the case, go to Internet Options, then Connections, then select "Never dial a connection".

I have never used dial-up connections but my computer was set up for dial-up. I think this should work. Thanks for the help.

There could be a lot of sources why this things could happened but for sure its an application or a malware which has a mis-configured connection setup. Better do a system scan and if negative, check all your auto run program, normally its displayed in your notification bar beside the clock. Try disabling them one by one to see which one is causing the problem and remove them. This maybe an auto-update tool, a search tool, an online network service or other. Hope you find them and good luck.

I have removed all the softwares that I have recently installed but the same thing still happens. I have also scanned using AVG but no threats except tracking cookies were found. But the same problem still persists after I removed the tracking cookies. Thanks for your help anyway. If all else fails, I will send it to the computer shop to get it fixed.
