i was watching friends today; that episode where Monica and Chandler find out they cant have children and it reminded me of when Carollete from S-ex and the City, found out she wasnt able to have kids either. I started putting the pieces together then. Monica and Chandler cant have children and neither can Charollete and harry. Both couples really want children (because its both of the women's dream to have thier own children) so they resort to adopting children. if you think about it, Monica and Charollete are the same woman; they both are really clean and organized and high strung. Marrigae and having children is a big part of their lives and they cannot wait to have a family of their own. They were both looking for "Mr. Right" and later found Chandler and Harry. Before Chandler there was Richard, which Monica fell in love with. He didnt want to have children so they ended their relationship. Charollete went through something quiet similar; she fell in love with a man who was, lets admit, a mama's boy. Despite his flaws they got married. They could not have children together which put huge strains on their marriage. Lets look at Carrie and Rachel now. They are also a lot alike. Although Carrie is a writer for a local newspaper column and rachel is at one point a waitress and then works for Rapl Lauren, both women love fashion. They both play trendy women in their own shows. Not only are these women very successful but love played a huge role in their roles as these women or woman shall I say. carrie has Mr. Big and Rachel has Ross. Mr. Big and Ross have been there from the beginning of both shows. these women were head over heals for these men and were in love. both of thee men were older. Carrie and Mr. Big had a long relationship, at first Mr. big was not ready for commitment but really loved Carrie. Later on, they were in a relationship, but there was always something coming in between the two: first Carrie started dating Aiden and was still in love with Big which resulted in adultery with Big. Big then moved to San Fransisco and so on went the problems. Rachel and Ross were friends even in high school. Ross has always had a crush on Rachel but she didnt really know nor did she care. Later on, they got into a relationsip and fell in love. Ross cheathed on Rachel (although that can be argued) and they broke up. Although they didnt get back together for a long time after this happened, they had a child named Emma later on in the show. They then moved in toegther after their baby was born and you could still sense and see the love they had for each other. Rachel was then offered a job in Paris, which she had to move away for and would have to leave Ross behind. He didnt not want her to leave and asked her to stay. At first she said no but then she realized what she had done and said and she came back to Ross and New York. Both of these couples; Ross and Rachel, Carrie and Mr. Big ended up getting back together at the end of both shows (at the end of the movie for S-ex and the City) which is another similarity in these two shows. Mind you, both of these shows were based in New York City and have a lot of similarities amingst the two, which would make one think: How creative are the writers for these shows that we love, oh so much?
