I love music. in fact i can play guitar and electronic keyboard (self-taught but not really that good, just the basics). i was also able to compose songs. and i can still remember the first album that i bought. it was the album of billy joel with it's carrier single 'we didn't start the fire' lol. i was still in the 5th grade then. that was 1990 i think. there was no cd yet that time. this album was still in tapes. lol. after i bought that, i start collecting albums. there was still no mp3's that time and i don't know if tapes were pirated. of course all the tapes that i had were originals. i think i was able to buy more than 50 tapes. what i did was to save money everyday on my allowance then during friday i'm gonna buy one. i still had my collections kept in a drawer. those were my investments when i was still a kid. lol

This is my first post here and this is an easy question to answer. The first tape that I bought was Bob Seger's Nine Tonight. I was five at the time and I saw a cartoon video for Old Time Rock N' Roll. The first CD I bought was Nirvana's Nevermind. I got a paper route to get a portable Sony player in 1992. I also got Nine Tonight later on CD. Last year I had to get an Ipod just because my CD collection was now over 300 CD's and was just too much to keep track of.It was so bad that my wife tried to keep me out of the used CD shops.

well let me do the honor of congratulating you on your first post. congratulations. you have so many cd's maybe if i will count my cd's it will just be 50+, plus my tapes 50+, plus the pirated cd's...hmmm secret lol. well i'm not into piracy. promise. after i got my first job, i realized that buying pirated stuff is actually stealing from someone so i stopped. i like to buy originals now because i'm after the quality. specially dvd's.

For the longest time I tried to at least buy the CD used because at least the artist's did get paid or If I really wanted an album or its a new release I would buy it new. Then I picked up something like star or people magazine. They were covering the Emmy's and it was showing people wearing $10000 outfits. Then I had no problem burning cs or pirating them. especially since I had to go to my company Christmas party in a suit from goodwill because I a decent portion of my money on CD's. I still buy a decent portion or my music since I have been listening to more jam bands that all audience to tape their shows. I figure I might as well go buy their studio CD's.

I love music too. And I also play guitar and I'm in the process of learning more on the keyboard. Sadly I can't remember the first album that I got. It was most likely between 1990 and 1995. Looking back at cassette tapes makes me laugh. What eight tracks are to me (weird) are what cassettes are to this generation, lol.
