Real SATANISTS don't believe in SATAN!

Yes, it is true.
There is a church of Satan. It is official, too. It even is recognized by Satan's spawn, the IRS! But they don't believe in Satan as a diety. Today's officially recognized, IRS approved Satanists think of Satan as a concept symbolizing having a good time and enjoying life. In actuallity these Satanists are athiests. Confusing? Maybe this will help.

Personally, I could not believe in Satan as a diety or otherwise. Neither could I believe that we are here merely to have as good of time as is selfishly possible. That is what I think of the officially approved IRS empowered church of Satan.
How about you? What do you think of the church of Satan in the article?

So the church of Satan is actually the church of athiest. I wonder it they had called themselve the church of athiest would they have become tax free. I think the IRS given them tax free statis is an idea for all of us. I am proclaiming, and I hope God does not strike me down for this, the church of GewCew. Do you think the IRS would recognize my church?

I have seriously considered starting a church, so why not you?
The problem with my potential church is that to be true to my core beliefs, I could not accept donations or pass a collection plate. Therefore, I'd almost have to become a hypocrite to found my church.
That's why I don't found my church, what is your excuse? There people making a good living from it.
Maybe we could found an online church? Take collections using PayPal? Credit cards? Just joking! But I'll bet someone does it or already has.

There are people doing just what you say. Whether or not they go to jail is totally dependent on how good of legal advice they get when setting up their church and how well they follow that advice. Yes, what you are suggesting can be done without going to jail, but you have to do it right or you will go to jail. Personally, I don't want to live my life that way.

Well it is the first time I every thought of it. I wonder if I could just transfer my income to the church and not have to pay income taxes. Donated to my own church, use the money as "church" funds, and then at the end of the year write off all of my income as charitable donations. Do you think it could work or would I just find myself in jail.

I am quite sure you are correct. Those would be very scary people. I think I'll stay clear of them.

The 'old' satanism would be extremely dangerous, if one understands satan at all. Therefore, any new satanism that does not consider satan deified, would be a pu_ssy religion by the old satanist's standards. Very scary stuff.

I agree, lol. I actually found out about them on another discussion site, and a Satanist was saying that they don't believe in God. Well, the other guy came a shed a whole new light on the subject. He actually sided with me, even though I am Christian. He was pissed at what he called "turning Satanism into a pu**y religion" LOL.

That is a tuffy. If I was the children's mother, I would probably skip town with my kids and not let them around him. In reality, he has a right ti his beliefs. That doesn't bother me but I want my children to have a good faith in God. This is why it is important to know another persons faith BEFORE you even start dating.

Yes, mixed faith marriages are every bit as difficult as mixed race, sometimes even more so.
As to this church of Satan, you have to wonder if the supposed non belief in Satan as a diety is a lie.
The other mystery is how does a group of admitted athesists get official sanction from the IRS as a religion?

Interesting. So not only is this an IRS sanctioned entity but it has now moved into the realms of another loose definition of "hedonists"?
"a symbol of pride, liberty and individualism"...... even this reference defies common sense! At what point in time did the whole concept of the "traditional" devil change to this?
Nothing really surprises me anymore. It is interesting to see also how many ex-wives the guy in the article has! I think I will stick to my existing belief system!

Oh yeah. I'm not about to convert to the church of Satan. It sure sounds like a racket that somehow got sanction from the government.
As to the ex-wives, I have a distinct prejudice toward people with 2 or more divorces. Experience has taught me that almost 100% of such people have serious personality problems, even when not apparent and the people seem charming.
