Have you ever replied to a kind of dull post just because you felt bad that the person had no replies? I have I figure if they went through the trouble of writing the post then they should get at least one reply especially if it's one of my friends.

i thnik you are just showing compassion for people which is a real good thing. alot of people have no compassion for other folks they are too self centered. i'm proud of you.

O.k. I'm not sure who you were saying you were proud of so I will just say on behalf of everyone here that said they do reply to these posts... "Thank you". You are right there is far to little compassion in this world. I'm a firm believer that if we each make one small gesture that we could make a huge difference in this world. Keep posting

Yeah some posts leave a lot to be desired, but again, the truth is, as soon as someone decides to put foward a post, he has given it original thought, and we are not all of the same intellectual perception, so rather than feel a post is pathetic, I give respect to the mind that generated it!

Most times I comb through my
friends old discussions from the
past year and find the ones
with no responses.
Then I post a response.
It's really more of a favor
than pity. They don't make
money until someone posts, so
I help them out
and they do the same for me
on occasion!
Hopefully!

I agree my first 3 posts recieved no replies and I almost left mylot. I figured if I was going to talk to myself I had better keep it off the internet. )The guys with the white jackets may find out. Shhhh) Then my stubborn side kicked in and here I am. Not ever one is as stubborn as my and I would hate to have a friend of mine give up before they got good at this. Who knows what we could learn from them.

with the mega population on this site what some people class as dull may be to some-one elses taste.i think i must have a simple mind and would post a reply it would help with comfidence get them to get better at posting and one gets a better understanding of how another person thinks.

Yes, I've done it. I had a post with no responses when I first started here and I remember how it felt!
But if the post is obviously one that is just trying to make some money (you know the kind, they post 20 discussions in a row with very little content) I just ignore them, and usually turn "notify off".

Lol, nothing wrong with it, I guess I would want the same in return. I feel kind of useless if I get no replies to my post. And just like you said, if a person went through the trouble of posting a discussion then they are expecting to get some responses. I haven't posted much as of yet, but hopefully will increase my daily postings.
