Do your kids do this?

When my kids dont want to try a new food they will fake a tummy ache instead. It gets so frustrating sometimes because I never know when they are faking or they really do have a tummy ache. Zachary started it and now Logan and Nicki do the same thing. They are really good about trying fruits but when it comes to veggies its hard to get them to try. So sometimes when they dont want to try it they tell me their tummy hurts. But then a hour later they want something to eat. So have your kids tried this? What other little tricks should I look for?

One of the things that used to concern me when my daughter was younger was that she would basically try anything as far as food goes without question... She still does... If I put any kind of food in front of her, she would smell it first, then if she doesn't like the smell, she would hold her breath & takes a bite... If she doesn't like it then, she'll ask me if she has to eat that or she'll let me know she doesn't like it... It used to be a little concern to me because I didn't know what type of food she might be allergic to...

try putting the veggies in like candy or make them look like something they would like.

My kids try this sometimes so I just tell them when they are hungry there food is at the table waiting on them. We tell them to take one bite and be honest about it. If they dont liek then they dont have to eat anymore of it. 9 times out of 10 they end up loving it. I would just decuse with them how imporant it is to be a honset person and that they can try a bite and try to see if theylike it or not. Good luck. T-Katt

my son will say he is not hungry and sometimes he says he has tummy ache. I will tell him that the food will be ready for him when his tummy stops hurting. I did once heat his lunch up for dinner since he had a tummy ache at lunch time.

No, they have not gotten to this point yet. But they will put water in their food when they don't want it.. They will start to play with it and put all kinds of liquids in it. That is when I know that they do not want any more food.. Have you tried disguising their vegetables, so that they will want to eat it..?? This may help a bit..
