With the world like it is rising prices and politics of working and going in a never ending circle of pay this work thiss buy this. Seems to me that I can never catch up. Do you ever dream of living on a ranch? Where the buffalo and the deer and the antilope play.

I have dreamed about living on a ranch for a long time. I joke with my friends that I want to live in a little farm house with Solar panels and pet goats. It would be so much more simplistic and I can't help wondering if maybe I have overcomplicated my life with things that I always want, and not the things that I actually need.

Well regardless if this is something you are realy interested in ....you might want to check out the site on my profile. I really think your dreams are great and your not alone! Why Yes!!! I dream of a farm where I can be free to do what I want, when I want too. I could grow my own food and know where it is coming from. Have my own chickens, get my own eggs. Without it costing so much. Don't have to worry about food when the refrigerator is empty. As mine is often empty in these last 6 months. And I am sure, I am not the only one. Take care, pleasant dreams! Margajoe

Well, you already responded to my discussion about what I wanted to do. Wild open spaces is good, but I'll settle for my 1 acre micro farm, working my trade and traveling when I can. Suits me better because I've always rather been attracted to a nomadic lifestyle and I grew up on a farm. Because of the economy and politics' ineptness in dealing with it, I hear that horses are being let loose in the wild and we might be having some wild herds of our own soon -- it'd be something wonderful to come out of all this mess here in America =) I'd love to have a horse or pony of my own, but I'm not sure we'll ever have the space or the ability to care for one. However, moving back in the country I will be able to see deer again. So, to answer your question here: more or less. Lol.

Making things and growing things to sell. Candied flowers, fresh/frozen/canned produce, desserts out of fruits, hopefully I'll get some giant reed so I can make things like gazebo frames or musical instruments as well. And whatever other similar things I come up with along the way.

Thanks for the response! You sound like you have a great plan! Horses do require a bit more space work and care all depends if the need is valued at more or something. If I may ask you mentioned working your trade what is your trade, What is your trade? :)

I have always wanted to live out in the country in a solar power home. Grow our own veggies and raise some animals. I lived on my mother in laws farm for a while a other than the guineas (evil loud birds!!!) I loved it and am really not happy living the subdivision that I'm in now.

Maybe not a ranch! I live in farm country. I wouldn't want to farm but sure would like a hobby farm with chickens, pig, cow, horses. I use to have one but then divorced. The deer camr right in my back yard. They are so beautiful. Keep dreaming and maybe someday it will come true!

Yes a hobby farm that can help with the food bill. My mother has a trailer in a trailer court on the yellowstone river and the deer go in here back yard they are pleasant visiters. Dreaming is what I will doing until that day! Thanks for the post. :)

I have dreamed to live in a ranch too. I think it would be great to live there without the killings and the noise of the city. I consider living there together with my husband when we are old and we don't need to work and retire.
