I have seen alot of scaring movies, and the kids love to see these movies even if they have fear from it. Thats make me wonder and ask this question: Why people like to watch scaring movies? and what you feel when you watch these movies?

Dear friend, When I was a kid I used to feel afraid after I saw scaring movies, still I would like to see them as those movies impact on is such deep I want to know more about movies like that. That scare in me had been created because of the movies ability the movies quality.Hence I would like to see much quality scaring movies and even now if along at times I tend not to see scaring movies even though I like to see it if not alone. Actually I like watching scaring movies.

i don't understand why some people like to be scared. i guess they don't have anything else of interest in their life. they either have a greater amount of stamina or they don't take it as serously as others.

I know that I am in the minority, but I hate scary movies. I get way too tense watching them and end up sick to my stomach. The only scary movies I like are ones like Jurassic Park and The Mummy where the premise is so silly that you can't take it seriously.

I think watching scary movies is a thrill for some people. I enjoy watching them but I haven't watched one yet that really scares me. Some of them are quite gruesome but not really frightening.

I agree, most horror movies don't actually "scare" me. One exception is the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, that movie (despite its almost TOTAL lack of blood/gore) is so raw and gritty and POSSIBLE, that it terrifies me. To this day I cannot watch it at night, and I'm a girl that LIKES me some horror movies! LOL

My four-year-old niece love to watch that movie where the guy turns into fire and his skulls are showing. I forgot the name of that movie. The one where the guy and his big motorbike turns fiery when some evil spirits are nearby. My niece would even say to people, "don't be scared. It's just a movie." hahahaha!

I like a scary movie every once in a while but not a steady diet of them. I watched a movie that was supposed to be scary the other night and it was just stupid and gore. It was The Haunting of Rebecka Valerina.

I think there are a difference between scary movies and gore scary movies, the extreme blood scene make the movie disgusting. Thank you my friend.

I am not interested in scary movies, ot because they scare me, just because I've always been a fan of non-fiction as opposed to fictin. I'm too literal and realistic to appreciate those kinds of movies.

Honestly, I really don't like scary movies. I don't like how I am constantly tense and worried that something's going to happen to make me jump or scream. I would much rather watch a comedy or a romance.

I think scary movies, even somewhat trashy scary movies, are a bit of a guilty pleasure for some of us although it's hard to explain how or why being scared out of one's wits would bring "pleasure". Some scary movies are so fake and in some cases poorly made that they're actually funny while some are very well-done and quite terrifying and I must admit I've been known to enjoy both types. I can't really speak for others but I'd guess people like watching scary movies because they like the thrill of having the sh1t scared out of them once in awhile. annie

Scary movies are awesome. It's just because of that feeling of having your heart beating fast and you're all nervous and stuff. That's really thrilling to me and that's why I watch them. Most horror movies don't really make me paranoid, but some have.

Slasher movies are GREAT! I'm with you in the sense that I don't like violence for violence' sake, but slasher movies are primal and awesome. They speak to centers we all have! And they're really interesting, if you are at all interested in film theory you should pick up this book: "Men Women and Chainsaws" by Carol Clover. She's a professor at UC Berkely who did some extensive research on horror movies and came up with a kind of lens to view them through.
