Islamic territories enjoys the oil price increase. George Bush pssst!!!!
Are you aware of Bush's participation to global crisis? Are you affected yourself? I do, a lot, very much...
I watched the news and gets frustrated that the shooting up oil prices rocked the whole world. The tune of oil price hike is enjoyed by our Oil Producer and Exporting Countries. That's the best thing the Arabic Region has. They owned the ocean of oil, us don't. Per barrel of oil will cost 180 in less that 2 months as projected by economists.
Is it still worth living this way? Yes, indeed this is the right time to be green. Time to go back conventional. What if we will return to the period of Calesa (Horse Carriage. What if we will do the same practice that our ancestors did. Awesome! Less pollution more opportunities for the Cattle Industry.
Hmmm let's categorize the cattle. In the cattle ranch, we can only use Horses, Cow and Carabao's maybe for transportation alternative. Let the Horses cater the people on the rush while people having heavy loads for transpo and not in a hurry can take a ride bu the cow or carabao. Cool! If this will be implemented one day soon, the Metro will look greener, no more extreme pollutants that these automobile emits. The cargo vans will only be permitted to ferry through our goods along thoroughfares. Office executives must downgrade from their fortunes. Better if these rich and elite people will divide their wealth. I think by doing this back to Horse Carriage will roll back oil prices and we won't be charged of Expanded Value Added Taxes. What do you think Filipinos?

Hi Kofficup.
When I look into discussions in mylot, i found out there's only few that discussed on the soaring oil prices, yet this is an important things to discuss now. I'm glad you started it.
High oil prices has become concern not in US, but also Europe, Asia, even the whole world concerned about it. It has rising the inflation which in turn slower the economic growth. In my country, the government just raised the fuel price by 28% which caused some protests. But we have no choice. We're living in a world where the oil prices getting higher and higher. Time to go green? ABSOLUTELY !
As I write this, the oil price just hit another record of $147. Perhaps only need a few days to touch the $150 level. If the government not doing something about this, I think it's time for us to go green like you said. :)
Cheers!

for one thing. it seems
we need to burn more body fat and less crude oil :)
e.g. more muscle-powered public transport to save fuel and provide jobs
I recall in China they had lots of people pulling rickshaws for a living.
In Philippines, they have pedicabs (bicycle-power transport)
Perhaps we meed more of these? Comments, anyone?
