Hi Eating tomatoes increase the consumption of oxalate which is a component of kidney stones. In most cases the stones are calcium oxallate crystals.

Hello kss,Tomatoes are delicious and has High doses of vitamin C. More than 500mg per day can result in high levels of oxalate in the urine and increase the risk of kidney stones.Oxalate is found in tomatoes but not only in tomatoes green beans, beats, spinach, squash, nuts chocolate and tea.Stone formers should limits these foods. But,remember tomatoes are rich in vitamin c and this antioxidant plays a role in maintaining a healthy immune system,it's good for heart disease, stroke and cancer too. So,What i have to say is too much of any thing is good for nothing. But, 500mg per day is good for your health.cheers..

I think it is not true. I haven't seen any advice from expert Doctor's regarding this information. If it is then, there are lots of informations and campaign regarding this issue, and since there is no available campaign and almost all people like tomato specially those fresh, then it is not true.
