You go to a store such as Wal-Mart, at the Gas Station, Albertson's or any other place that sales grocery and other items you will always spot places to buy energy drinks. But what gives you that boost of energy and that type of alertness?
If you read the ingredients in what energy drinks offer this is one of the things that boost your body, your blood and reaction.
Sugar and caffeine just like you would when drinking coffee.
Niacin, ginseng and vitamin b12 are the stimulants combined in those drinks. So when you drink them you get that temporary alertness for a couple of hours or so.
Now if you ever buy those 5 to 6 hour energy shots they have more double of the niacin, ginseng and vitamin b12 and other ingredients which lasts longer and yes you won't have any crashes. The one energy shot I like is 3X 6 hour Fusion Energy which boosts me up very good in the morning.
There's another one that is good which pumps good Vitamin B12 is XS Energy Drink which is rare to find here to buy but they sale it in Mexico or other countries. It's a good boost.
I only recommend energy drinks if you work late night or want to go and exercise. It keeps you alert and focus on your body to move and get things done quickly.

I don't its such a good idea to boost yourself up in the morning with energy drinks or shots. Unless it is necessary, one should not over use it. I think if you use them too often, you will end up growing dependent on them. And i also feel that these kind of boosters are so "unnatural".
Go do some regular morning exercises, and you will get the same result, and so much more such as better stamina, healthier body, better circulation, lower blood pressure and cholesterol level....

What happens if you don't get one in the morning? Do you get flat out like a punctured tire? It is interesting for me to know as I see a lot of people like you, but I am not so much of a believer in energy drinks, I have consumed less then 5 times in my entire life ( of course that figure can change :D )

If I don't have one then I don't have one. I chose to have energy shots for a temporary time. I'm not going to live the rest of my life to have one. It's not the matter of believing in them I didn't ask you if you did. This topic is about what contains in most energy drinks and why people get the alertness. I like using them from time to time and that's my choice not yours. You don't like it then move on.

that's what i do every morning. that's exactly what i posted on my discussion. morning exercise, vitamin b12 and ginseng helps me get motivated -- oh and what i take doesn't ruin my blood pressure
ive done my research so one energy shot a day isn't going to do any harm and what it contains

Also: too much sugar and a ton of caffeine are in a lot of those drinks.
be careful, it is very easy to over dose on Niacin just by drinking 2-3 of those drinks in a day.

I only drink one energy shot a day. I don't drink energy drinks like red bull or that stuff. XS yes I will drink. About Niacin I pop a pill once a day with 750mg. I'm on a diet anyways to cut down on some foods and get in shape.

Wow 750 can make you really sick. Recommended is 14-16mg a day and you aren't suppose to go over 500mg a day unless you have a medical reason and are under strict observation by a doctor.

I have to watch my sugar intake but I was sent a 'freebie' bottle which I liked the taste of and maybe (could've been a psychological thing) kept me going a bit longer on the cross-trainer. I did buy a 4-pack when it was on super special offer but tend to just go with tap water.
