Aside from rings..

Hello to everyone! I was forunate enough to watch all films of the Lord of the Rings and it is quite entertaining and fascinating We all know that the whole story goes 'round that ring that 'rules them all' or something to that effect. But, if you can change it for another object, what would you consider for which that 'rules them all?' Sword that rules them all? Shield that rules them all? Bucket? Ladder? Rope? Nail? Pot? (culinary) Let your imagination take over as the film did upon rendering J.R.R. Tolkien's work visually, and state why you considered that item to be that which 'rules them all.'

Hello.^_^ I have seen the movie series too but it just didnt keep me interested past the 2nd movie. I dont know why. I love the first movie but after that it kinda fell flat for me. I love the scenes, the storyline and the effects but I seem to be favoring other movies rather than the last two installments. Anyway, if there was one thing that rules them all aside from a ring, I guess it would have to be an eye. The eyes kinda know everything by seeing everything but I think thats a bit reminiscent of the ring...? Aside from these two I would have to pick a crown or something because a crown is often tied with the sense of power and prestige and the resistance of man to intense temptation isnt exactly that strong so the common people in the story would have to fight over the crown.

Lord of the Crowns ... Sauron would've lost his head instead of a finger when it was just ring I guess.. then again, when crowns are ever mentioned, I sometimes think of pageants.. Sauron would definitely get angry when someone else takes the crown from him.. "My Precious..." would definitely mean something else if it were the case for Gollum

But a head getting cut-off might not be too nice to look at on film, though the 300 did show something like that... Chamber pot You definitely got your imagination running there.. three massive books that were turned into block buster films that centered on a conflict about a chamber pot ROFL!!

LOL, well at least losing one's head brings on more conflict and maybe a different twist to the movie rather than just a finger. On a comical side, when I read the "pot(cooking)" I kinda thought of chamber pot.^_^ Now, that would definitely be something else!

Hmm.., how about a Gauntlet? I kinda chose this because I was reminded of the Marvel Superheroes game, where Thanos had a weapon called the Infinity Gauntlet, where it would give its wielder the ability to control virtually every aspect of the universe, which is manifested in 6 Infinity gems.

Yeah, but the concept itself is pretty much nifty right? ^^ Oh, and I think one gauntlet would suffice, especcially if it can contain that much power.

Hehehe, right... Infinity Mittens wouldn't be a good idea though.. (^0^ )

Would the Gauntlet be rendered useless without those six infinity gems? Two gauntlets or just one?

hi ratyz! what a fun discussion. ^__~ i never saw any of the movies in the Lord of the Rings trilogy but i know that its about some darn rings which a lot of people were after. i couldn't appreciate the movie although i like Legolas. ^__^;; if i were to change the rings, i would rather make it a sword, a sword that is sacred to many people and would grant undeniable super power to anyone who wields it. but of course, that would be like the King Arthur story. but a sword is a cool object! "astig". ^__~ if it wouldn't be a sword, then i think a "palo-palo" can substitute it. well its better than a bucket or a ladder!

Mighty Mightor - Caveman Tor was given the power to transform into the super-powered Mightor by a hermit, using a super-powered club. With his pet flying dinosaur, Tog, he protected his village from evil-doers. Amongst the villagers were the chief, Pondo, and his daughter, the beautiful redhead Sheera. Sheera had a younger brother named Little Rok, who loved pretending to be Mightor. The characters had several pets, including Little Rok's dodo bird Ork and Sheera's mammoth cub Bollo.

Tor was voiced by Bobby Diamond, while Mightor was voiced by Paul Stewart. Pondo, Tog, Ork and Bollo were voiced by John Stephenson. Sheera was voiced by Patsy Garrett. Little Rok was voiced by Norma McMillan.

You initially want it to be a sword that rules them all and your second alternative would be that 'palo-palo'.. though it reminds me of that super caveman cartoon series entitled "Mightor" or something.. though in that series, he was using a club which would be a raw stage of that 'palo-palo' Well, I wasn't really aiming for any of my suggestions to be better, just suggesting them. Maybe a locket? That would have been nice. Or a time piece. I suppose the author chose a ring because it's so close to the wearer's body.

Wouldn't lockets have photos or images inside them? What image would be inside that 'locket which rules the all?' Now, if its a timepiece.. perhaps Sauron would definitely want it back, items like that are like heirlooms

Well lets see ... Hmmm i guess i would bargain the ring with nothing because other things seem to unmatch the ring a ring is round circle wat goes around comes around...moreover its the most bestest ornament that power can be stored upon...
