Where justice is denied,
where poverty is enforced,
where ignorance prevails,
and where any one class is made to feel that society is in an organized conspiracy
to oppress, rob, and degrade them,
neither persons nor property will be safe.

i think it is...
and it is a big issue some parts of the world where corruption runs rampage.
which is why some countries are unable to become developed, because there is too much corruption.
when you pay money to get out of something, be it jailed or whatever, you are allowing corruption to contuniue!!!
ok, i got off tracked there...
what i want to know is do you beleive that corruption is the reason why some countries are still far from developed?

if u wanna say corruption is the most crucial reason to obstruct a country to be developed, I think it's not quite true. Because there're several factors that affect this country developing together, each of them is essential, cannot be ignored. Say, if u were a politician in government, what would u do to make your country moveforward? Aside from corruption, people are expected to find the answer from the fundamental conditions of a country.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely! Corruption is most DEFINITELY a major issue in under developed countries and the gap between the rich and the poor grows rapidly as a result. There are moves to forgive foreign debt of many third world countries for example; but if they don't clean up corruption then the money previously used to pay off debts to other countries will be misused as per usual. But at the other end of the spectrum; corruption also serves its purpose in getting things done. It can remove red tape for one in many countries. But again, this should not have to be the case. It will always exist, it all comes down to what level.

Well, I will share an analogy with you.
Look at a pressure pot. When you have a good cook (government) knowing how to adjust the fire, mix the ingredients and use a good judgement to add the necessary spices to make a dish, the dish will turn out well. Everyone gets fed with a good dish.
When that cook is some one who tries to take short cuts, and tries to cheat on the ingredients, covering the pot and not care about how the ingredients in the pot is doing, what will happen?
Under the pressure, the food will turn mushy. The water will dry. The food will burn. And when the pot totally dries, the pressure in it starts to build up. If nothing is done, the pot will eventually pop from the pressure.
So, whether you get a good dish or not, will result in whether you get a good cook or not. Agree?

well corruption is a part of life, if you had an opportunity to get something done by paying a small fee, would u wait in the que, answer all queries and come thre e times to an office or would you pay the samll sum to get it done, it is we ourselves that encourage such things as corruption, so one sitting in a glass room cannot throw stones
