So the other night my sister was telling me that she rented (the night before at 8:46pm) the movie The Eye, with Jessica Alba. I have been dying to see it and the renals are god for 24 hrs so you can watch it again and not pay 2x. So at 8:00 pm I decided to watch it being it was free. 46 minutes into the movie and guess what.... That's right it just shuts off automaticaly because the 24 hrs was up to the minute. I was so mad, since I had started watching it and now if I wanted to watch it again, I would have to rent it again, ad thats right, pay AGAIN! I think they should be a little more specific about their terms since I was under the impression that you just have to rent it again within the 24 hr period, not rent it with enough time to watch it before the actual rental time expires. I think this is a scam so that people will pay twice and it is disgusting. I refuse to rent it again and will just wait until it is on the movie channels for free to watch it again. Has this ever happened to you? What do you think of this policy?

I know that really had you heated. I have not had that problem before. I have see it on ppv and it's good. That is the most that I will tell you. When they say 24 hours, I thought it was from the time you rent the movie til the next day the same time. Or did they have some other policy for renting. I don't know but I thought that is how it worked. Now it could be something different. So check and see what there policy really is and next time you will know what to do. If you call them and tell them what happen they might let you watch it again with out paying twice.

If that i sthe case they should have a pop up or something notifying you that there will not be enough time to watch the movie in full and not even allow you to rent it. They have no problem tracking the time in order to shut it off to the minute. thank youfor your response, and i'm glad you liked the movie. Hopefully I will see it in full soon!

We rent movies from the cable company, too. I've never had that problem because the terms say "You have 24 hours to watch this movie." So, if it's close to the 24th hour, I just don't watch it. We usually only rent movies to watch once, anyway. If it's a really good movie, we'll buy it. If it's not really great, we'll just wait until it comes on a movie channel to see it again.
