Hi lou-I think all animals are underestimated for their intelligence-both cats and dogs are highly intelligent and I dont really think there is much difference..I have 2 dogs and they both understand me not always what I say but by sign language as that is what they relate to more they hear things and see things we don't and its the same as cats-your friend littleowl

I think that dogs and cats can both be intelligent or not smart at all. It depends, after all there are some very intelligent dogs, but there are also some that do dumb things like run into glass windows. I would assume that it is the same for cats. Some are more intelligent than others. I think some of it has to do with what they are being trained to do as well.

hi lou1982,
no one really knows for sure because we aren't either dogs or cats(or are we....)but we all have our own opinions.
I would say both are equal, since i can't really decide.
