What A Crowded Busy Day...

It's a typical thursday in the afternoon I just went to buy three items: Bleach, dish soap and cough drops for my sister. So I decided to go to Albertson's. I go there and the place is packed, took me like 20 minutes to finally find parking all the way in the back. Then came to realize there was a super sale or discount that Albertson's was promoting like 50% off or other great sales and stuff for a lot of items. Long lines were everywhere. So I get my items took me a while to find them because they keep rearranging things in the store. So I thought to myself I'm going to the Self Checkout area with the touch screen do it yourself computers. The lines were even long, but what took long were the people that were self checking out their items. It was like looking at people that couldn't figure how to use the computer. I must've waited a good 35 minutes until I finally checked out my three items less than 2 minutes. And to make it worst getting back to my car just to get out of the parking lot took forever. It was so crowded with cars and people all I heard was cars honking and people yelling MOVE IT YOU'RE IN MY WAY. I started honking too since people were lagging and walking in the middle of the area just to get out of the parking lot. Ever had one of those days?

You know full well, if you swap queues, you'll be stuck behind the one who has the split bag of something so has to get an assistant to come and swap it... then they'll root around at the bottom of their bag to find their purse ....count out all the loose change - and find they dont quite have enough ... so they then have to hunt for their credit card... which they cant seem to remember the PIN number for ... so they have to get out their cellphone (which is obviously buried in the depths of the bag that they've started packing their shopping in) where they've stored it. Then they take forEVER to pack the rest of their stuff - by which time, the checkout person is due for a break so you wait for the 'handover'. You no longer need the comb you were buying because you've pulled all your hair out, you dont need the nicotine patches because you've gone through 'cold-turkey', the Slimfast's surplus to requirements 'cos you've lost 10lbs since you entered the store.....

Those self-checkouts can make ANYONE type A!!! I'm assuming at least one person had four bags of produce at self-scan? with another fifty items in the cart? Sorry you had a day like that, the nice thing about being unemployed right now is I can go shopping at the most convenient times, never get stuck in that stuff!

yes, today i had to take the bus to the doctors and i am rather slow (i walk with a cane) and it was absolutely pouring. to make matters worse, when i got to the doctors, the door was locked, so i had to wait out in the rain for about 10 minutes before the secretary let me in!

Hello darkangel1079, I would have lost my temper in the shop let alone outside with the car, how far is your home from the shop? would it be possible to walk the distance and get ther in half the time and all time looking for parking space? Tamarafireheart.

i've been stuck in the speedy checkout lane because of not just a long line but people that have over twenty items. and not just a little over. some had forty items. i was counting. and then there's things that go wrong. they were taking items back and re-scanning them. and then someone doesn't get credit for a sales item and the cashier has to ask questions from an employee more experienced. it helps to pick up a conversation with someone in line to pass the time. it's a good survival tip.

Yes. I have had many of those days. I hate crowds anyway. My husband does most of our shopping for us now. I order alot of things from home if I can but he does the gorcery shopping. I just write the list and put it all away when he gets back.

Yeah, not so much here but where I used to live near washington d.c. I have had experiences like that. it makes you wonder if you should even go in a store unless you need a whole long list of things. It's a pain to have to wait to buy a few things.

heck yeah!! i bet almost everyone has had one of those days in their lives. i had one at the mall. they were giving out free things and alot of the things were like 70% off and already reduced price. everyone was running in and some people even slept over the night just to get in early so they have a bigger selection. it took 35 min. just to find parking. then 45 min. just to find wat i was looking for. then there was only like 2 checkout lines open and the line was frikin long!! it took forever.
