A Canton man is suing Zondervan Publishing and a Tennessee-based publisher, claiming their versions of the Bible that refer to homosexuality as a sin violate his constitutional rights and have caused him emotional pain and mental instability.
Bradley LaShawn Fowler, 39, is seeking $60 million from Zondervan, based in Cascade Township, and $10 million from Thomas Nelson Publishing in the lawsuits filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Fowler filed the suit against Zondervan on Monday, the same day U.S. District Judge Julian Abele Cook Jr. refused to appoint an attorney to represent him in his case against Thomas Nelson, a Tennessee publisher.
Fowler filed a suit against Thomas Nelson in June. He is representing himself in both claims.

That is terrible. When will it ever end? Each time I read things like this I think that America is dummied up. If it isn't Obama, it is something like this. How on earth can you sue someone for publishing the Word of God? It does not matter which version you look at, the Word of God says homosexuality is wrong.

There is a saying that anyone who represents themselves in court has a fool for a client.
I think the same applies in this case.
This idiot is basically suing God, but I strongly believe God will have the final word.

I knew it was comming. Now I'm just hoping that the courts are wise enough to say that traditional texts need to have the freedom to translate as the text lies without worrying about offending someone. If you don't believe, that's (litterally) you're God-given right to refuse to believe. If you do believe, live by it. In either case, don't blame the translators for translating it accurately.

What?! That is Gods word! I don't care what version of the bible it is,it will say the same thing. He better not win.I don't believe that this has caused him any pain.If he has any pain,he brought it on himself.Good for the judge, not appointing him a lawyer. This is ridiculous!

And then what? Will he sue other publishers of the Bible? Maybe go after the koran? I don't blame the judge for refusing to appoint an attorney to represent him. "Just take a chill pill, Bill..."

Ah, but wouldn't he have to prove that he read them all? And then wouldn't it be considered self-inflicted injury?
