I love my new pet. Her name is Jazmin and she just turned 4 months old. We have been very good at taking her out, but sometimes she pees or poos on the floor. I had a dog long ago and potty training was very easy. By the time she hit 4 months she did not have any accidents. Is it normal that potty training a yorkie is so hard? We tried the potty pads, but she like to tare them up. We have also crate trained her and yes sometimes she pees in there. Any Suggestions?

well i've never had a yorkie before but i have trained a good many dogs. you need to have her in a crate that is just big enough for her so there is no room for her to pee. she won't pee where she lays. unless you leave her in there a long time. when i train my dogs i would keep them in the crate most the time at first. i would take them outside, let them pee and then bring them back in. i would let them run around for just a few minutes and then put them back in the cage. every few days i would let them out a few minutes longer. they all trained pretty fast like that.

We only have her in the crate when we go to bed and she wakes me about 6am every morning and then we also put her in there when we leave some where. But I will try to put her in there a little bit more. Thank you
