by now most of you know about the 5 feet that have been found on British Columbia beaches, not all the same time but over the course of the year.
it was believed that the feet may have been form boat or plane crashes, yet none had been reported.
The fifth foot was not even human but some cruel joke, somebody put a animal hoof in a running shoe and left it there.
Families of missing people are in enough pain and want closure, they don't need some idiot making their pain even worse.
Well I am watching CTV news right now and they have a break in the case,
scientists say that the hardest way to extract DNA samples is when it has been in water,
but they have determined that the four feet belong to a man and a woman, but they cannot match them up with any missing person yet,
they say the feet were not cut but were severed from being in the water, they just separated from the bodies.
they also traced that four of the running shoes were made in north america, and on 1 in India,
do you think the authorities are working hard enough of this case?
Do you think they will ever get to the bottom of the story?

apparently it has been happening over the period of a year, so I hope they get to the bottom of it soon.

The only time I hear about this is when you update it here and I thank you for that. I still find it very strange. It looks like if shoes with feet in them are washing up or being found that other body parts or clothing would also be seen.

it is a big ocean the pacific ocean that is the problem, they could be anywhere, and probably the fish have eaten a lot of the bodies by now too.

The only things that I have heard about the feet has come from you. Despite what we see on the TV about forensics on programs Like CSI It really does take a long time to identify DNA and any thing else that might help to identify these feet. Here in the states when a baby is born their foot prints are put on birth certificates. They are not kept on file any where. The parents get them. Maybe at some point they will be able to make foot prints from the feet and some one will bring such a document to the police to possibly make a match. The feet could have become severed by fish eating on the bodies.

the experts say that the water will sever the feet, but yes perhaps the rest of the bodies have all gone now, as fish food.

Oh my that is so sad. I think it would be very difficult to get to the bottom of that story, whoever were missing will remain missing still. But hopefully other clues may surface.

me too, I wish they find out soon, so many people need closure and they are obviously somebody's family.

This story just sent goosebumps running up my arm. That's just creepy (and I have to agree with the statement about the practical joke). The thing that was most creepy is that the foot just separated from the body! It seems like they're doing a great job so far since they have found out the genders and the minimized the possibilities with their information. I just hope that they would figure this case out soon for the families.

I agree so many people want to know if these are their missing love ones, they do want to get some kind of closure.

I sure hope they get to the bottom of the story and hopefully they're doing what they can. I had a friend years and years ago when I was in my twenties and I can't even remember now what year it happened but Sharon her husband and kids went on a trip. We all lived in B.C. at that time and anyway they had gone for a boat ride. Sharons husband didn't want to go but sharon did want to go so the fellow driving the boat took Sharon and her oldest son. Something dreadfully wrong happened and the boat went down and Sharon and her son were presummed drowned and never found. Well when I heard this you can guess what I thought and you can probably feel the goose bumps. I'm trying to follow this as best I can but we're camped at the lake right now so I don't get all the news.

Hi Winterose, I do believe they are trying through foresenics to find the identities of these people but like you say it is difficult as the feet have been in the water. It is good to know that they have parted from the bodies naturally otherwise that would have been gruesome to think they had been severed delibrately. Disregarding the 5th none foot it looks to me like maybe a couple have been lost overboard a samll boat at some stage and their feet have been washed ashore. They may never get to the bottom of who they are as they may have been immigrants trying to reach Canada, well they did but not in the way they anticipated. I hope they resolve it though. Ellie :D

they may never have wanted to come to canada, they could have been in malaysia having a nice afternoon boat ride and something happened, the tides brought the feet all the way to canada, nobody knows at this point.

I hope they are working hard to solve this mystery.. There are many families that have lost loved ones and although they don't want to hear bad news, they do want closure.. The world is a cruel place sometimes, this shouldn't be happening..

I know and they are trying to find the answers but it is pretty difficult when the answers might already be eaten up by the fish in the ocean,

omg how horrible.. i dont understand how feet just fall off of people compared unless you are just talking about skeletons i am picturing there still being tissue with it and you would think that would be enough to keep the body together and if not where is the rest of them?!?! i hope they figure it out but i dont have a good feeling about it

flesh breaks away from the body in the water, and then it floats any which way, then perhaps the fish even it. It is so hard to really know.
