The cheapest retail price is £180 ($360) and a friend of a friend is interested in buying it. I am in the lucky position of already owning one. I want to give them a bargain but at the same time don't want to sell too cheaply as I could do with the extra money, one person has suggested £150 but I'm not sure if this is asking too much. What would you sell it for?

I would say to take 30 percent off the retail price and go with that. When I took business class, that is what we considered the mark up value when we were learning what to sell things for. And you do not have to bother with value added tax or manufacturing tax. That is what I would sell it for as I do not have any overhead or building to pay for.

Hi Suspenseful, I am not good at maths but did manage to sell for £150 ($300) so I think someone got a bargain and I also made a fair amount too. I will remember this 30% for anything I sell in furture though as this is solid business advice, thank you. Ellie :D

Hi GreenMoo, the money will be put to good use as I want to fly to see my mother in Spain so it will go towards an airticket, need to renew passport also and thats not cheap these days either. Two thirds will be a bargain for someone I agree. Ellie :D

I'm not sure as my boyfriend and I are currently in the position we might want to buy one and we are looking around to find one at a decent price.
They cost 250 euros here (aprox. $390, this includes the WII sports pack) and I've seen them retail second hand from 170 euros and up (aprox. $265, they still have the receipt and everything and a couple of months of insurance if something gets damaged).
If it's still originally sealed and everything 150 pounds sounds fair, if they are friends they will appreciate you taking 30 pounds of the price; I'd rather pay my friend that than a store as I know they need it badly and I want a WII anyway . That's another way to look at it.

Hi Cyberfluf, I have managed to sell for £150 ($300) as still boxed new and I already have one so excess to requirements really. Yes I did indeed win one but the site is a UK free quiz site so you wouldn't be applicable but maybe do a search for free prize quizzes for your area. Good luck. Huggles Ellie :D

I definitely don't think that is being greedy ellie - it is much cheaper than they could ever dream of getting it at that price otherwise! If it was a very close friend then maybe I would say that you might think about going a bit less but other than that I think getting it for that price new is wonderful and very nice of you! xxx

Hi Mummymo, I have had another interested person so will do cheaper as they are a friend but the friend of the friend that I don't know would still be getting a bargain eh! It means I will be able to renew passport, even though it doesn't expire til Dec08 but they won't let you travel within 6 months of expiry date, how cray is that, and get a flight to see my mum in Spain. WOW... congrats on winning a Wii :) well done... I am in Australia and they are selling for about $390-$400 here... I do not know if that is any help to you? Although by now you may have already sold it too as I just noticed this discussion was started 2 weeks ago - if so how did you go with selling it?

I'd say £135. That's 30% off the asking price and a pretty good saving whilst leaving you with a comfortable sum too. Any money that you make is profit of course. But I don't see why you should give it away. I've just had a look on E Bay and the cheapest console (new boxed) was going for £155.00. If yours has the Sports bit too then they are going for up to double that price.

Hi P1kef1sh, I would have loved to have given it to one of the girls but I can't as it would cause quarrels as I only have the one to give. The money I get will go on renewing my passport and towards flights to visit my mother in Spain. I hadn't thought to check Ebay as I don't think I can sell for a bargain price there because of the postage costs really. It does include the Wii Sports package. You know me I would much rather give but feel I do need to sell for this reason. £135 is giving someone a real baragin and also giving me all that profit, I agree. Ellie :D

Selling a Wii!!!??!?! I dont think that is a very good idea (unless you already have one), it is REVOLUTIONARY, everybody around the world is fighting for that gaming system, and WINNING one is almost impossible to happen. Ive enter many contests and sweeptakes and never once did i won anything. So maybe you should keep it just to remember that day. If you still intend on selling it, then maybe you should sell it for maybe 80% of its orriginal price...seems fair i guess.

£150 sounds good to me babes it's £30.00 off i'd sell it for that. Why should you do other people favors when you could do with the money.
p.s how did you win it?

I don't really know what a Wii is so I would not know what the value of one is,
Maybe you should do a price search for new and used and see what the price is, or see what different people have sold or bought one for.
Or if you just want some money see what the most is you can get for it, let people bid on it until it feels like you are getting a good price,
I really don't know what a Wii is though or what it is used for, so maybe that would be a factor for you.
If your wanting to sell that though I hope you get a good price and are happy with the price you get.

Well, if your selling it to a friend then you can sell it for whatever you like, I would probably take $100.00 off the price, that way it would cover most of the price of the one you already have. If you feel guilty you could drop it more. If I was selling it to a stranger, I would ask for a price a lot closer the full price.

Hi Tianna, it would not be a friend I am selling it to just someone they know so I would rather sell for a higher price as I need the money to buy a flight ticket to see my mother in Spain. Thanks for your input and yes as I have only just recently bought the other it would go to cover that didn't think of that one. Huggles. Ellie :D
