it depends on what kind of fruit my wife craves for. she is the one who loves to eat fruits. i am not much of a fruit eater. i only eat a few serving of banana, apple, watermelon and cantaloupe. she eats a lot of different kinds of fruits. if she likes to eat pineapple and there is no fresh pinapple in the market place then we buy it canned. so my response is it depends if the fruit my wife likes to eat is available fresh or canned.

Here I never seen any canned fruit salads.
We used to make our own, or sometime we take together from some coolbars while we travel. We make fruit salad with different fruit slices(Apple, pineapple, grapes, rock melon, Cherry etc.) with Milk & Condensed mild and Custard or Ice cream.

Fresh organic fruits are best, I feel. That's what we eat here. It may cost a buck more? But it saves on medical costs over time later.

i prefer fresh fruits when i can get them & this summer has been a good one for fresh one. i do make friut salad in the winter & use canned fruit but i usually throw in whatever fresh fruit i can find. my family loves strawberries & bananas so i usually fix that at christmas.it's light & we are usually all syuffed w/turkey & dressing.

This time of year, summetime, fresh fruits are abundant and always taste so much better than canned fruits. If the option for fresh fruit is there, I would definitely choose fresh over canned for my fruit salad.
My favorite fruit salad lately is strawberries, blueberries and grapes(all washed and chilled well) just tossed in a bowl together for eating--no mess, no stress!
