Why have we lost the magic

Ok, I decided to put up one last post before I disappear to go to school. I was just reading over some material and came across a place where people where calling Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium the biggest piece of @#&*($#@ ever. I am just wondering when we all lost that magic in our lives that we cannot even enjoy a little piece of beautiful fiction that takes us to a better place. This movie was never meant to be a raging epic it was a well done piece of beautiful child like wonder showing us we need to love every moment of our lives. Think about it Mr. Magorium was over 200 years old and he lived every moment of that life in wonder and magic. For me this movie has sparked that child like magic in my heart, it made me look out my window and see beauty everywhere, it made me want to walk in that beauty every day. Wonder and beauty is a gift and we need to accept it and relish it and share it. Ok, so here is the discussion; did you see Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium and if so what did you think? If you didn't like it then may I suggest you go back watch it again with wonder in your heart and try again maybe you will see it, that spark of wonder, that "sparkle". What movie or movies have you seen that did fill you with wonder and magic? I will leave you with this: "Your life is an occasion, rise to it." Dustin Hoffman as Mr. Magorium

I didn't see the film, my friend, but I despair of kids these days. If it's a "nice" film, full of magical nostalgia, then they regard it as soft. They're not happy unless it's all fighting and crime... that's what the world's come to. Brightest Blessings.

Hello my friend. First, thank you so much for carrying for our beloved Gabs. A truly wonderful thing you did. I fully agree with you. It is a very sad world when violence is viewed as better entertainment. Some of the best movies of all times are beautiful stories of wonder and magic not violence and hate. There is nothing wrong with a soft story sometimes, it sooths our hearts and minds and allows us to heal the hurts of a violent world. I asked my 4 year old son what he like the best of this movie and I was so moved by his response. We talked about the movie for like a half hour. He said he loved the end because the girl finds her magic. When I asked him why he liked that he said, well we all need to be magic or we can't be real. He said that he is always happy when there is magic, now he means stuff like street magicians but from the mouths of babes as they say.

Caring for Gabs was no problem at all, my friend, except for when she tried to sneak and do things behind my back! I think she's found out for herself now that she has to take one step at a time, and very small steps, for a while. How sweet is your Son? I feel you probably put the magic in his world, and he recognises how pleasant it is. xx

i have not seen the film however your wonderful "review" of this film makes me want to see it ! we all need to nurture the child within or we become old and bitter. we can do this, by watching films like this and paying attention to the message.
