how long will it take for a criminal record check?

I have twice interviews with one company. They asked me to sign a form to check criminal record. How long will it be process? They told me if I got hired they will contact me.It's been 4 days. They haven't call me yet.Do I have a chance to get hired? I am so wrong about it. I don't have any criminal record.

Don't worry - government checks often take a long time, lots of red tape. I'm sure you don't have a criminal record, and you'll hear something very soon!

I failed again. Yesterday, I called the company that they told me because my french is not that good. It's sad.

it might depend how they are sending it in. if they are mailing it you might have to wait a few days more. if they fax it to whoever is doing the check then it shouldn't take too long. i may just depend on how many applicants they have too. i'd say that if you have no record you should get it as long as you made a good impression at the interview. good luck!

I had a Criminal records check last year,an it was an enhanced one ,it didnt take too long,maybe about three weeks to come through.All of the time I was waiting I was very unsure ,and why I dont know,I knew I had done nothing wrong,but lol it doesnt stop you fretting about it all.The company paid for mine,and as I wasnt able to accept the job in the end due to mu hubby having very poor health ,then it a shame that the money was wasted doing it.
