Does anyone else grind their teeth in their sleep? What sets you off and how do you control it?

Hi. My grandmother, cousins and siblings told me that I there's something noise in my mouth during the night and that's when I sleep. My grand mother told me that it's no a good sign. I don't know what how I did that noise. But I hear my sister doing these too but we all don't know why this is happening. Well, it cannot be control because I am unconscious and just sleeping, I don't know what's happening either. As long as I record or video my self sleeping. I don't know If this is happening until now because I am sleeping alone in my room now. I hope there's nothing wrong with it and it's only natural things. keep up the good post!

Yeah I grind my teeth in my sleep. The fact that my jaws are clamped down wakes me up. When I wake up, my teeth are really sore and it takes days for the pain to wear down. I take Aleve and it cuts down the pain just for a little bit but when I try to eat on the side that hurts, it is impossible. I am going to go to my dentist to get a night guard.

I don't think I do. At least my husband never noticed, if I do. But my youngest brother does, and it drives me crazy. It makes it hard for me to sleep around my little brother. I'm not sure what sets it off or how to control it. I know some dentist may give u a mouth guard type thing. You wear it when you sleep so you don't actually grind your teeth. It's not good for your teeth when you grind them too much.
