My wife just informed me that because I am a nice man I am taking the family out to eat tacos, and that I am paying. She will give me her $5 off discount card at the place we are going, because she is a nice woman Wasn't that nice of me to volunteer like that, without any assistance on her part? How about you folks? Is your partner this sweet and kind? What's your dinner? I'll be back to answer you all when I return from this lovely taco dinner...

Hahahahaah - you ARE a nice man! My husband is also a nice man, and he cooks the Sunday roast every week. However, there is LOTS of washing up involved afterwards, and he certainly doesn't do that! I hope you enjoyed your taco dinner!

Oh no! Whoever cooks should do the clean up too I don't cook very often, it's so much easier to just take the girls out to dinner and let somebody else clean things up Dinner was delightful!

Well honestly, something like that wouldn't happen with my husband and I, because there IS no his money or my money .... it's our money. So I couldn't volunteer him to pay, because it isn't just his money. I don't understand the concept of keeping money separate when you marry. A marriage is a combination of not only lives, but assets. It drives competition, when there should be none between partners. It causes situations like this, for example. And yep, my partner is that sweet and kind, without the sarcasm. We've been married 11 years, and still to this day, if I even hint that I don't feel like cooking that night, he'll happily pick up takeout, or take us out for dinner. But then again, he knows that I work my butt off ... not only making an income, but looking after our home and our children. He's the rare kind of man who sympathizes, and tries his best to balance it out when he can.

There really is no his and hers money here either beyond what is in each of our wallets. She was just being silly, as I had teased her earlier about getting paid from one of the companies I write on my blog for

Wow! You really are a nice guy! Glad your wife pointed it out! Sure, I have a nice spouse too and he does the grocery shopping. I'm nice enough as wife to make out the grocery list and hand over the cash from savings. And I don't complain too loudly anymore when he forgets the Pico De Gallo sauce or sour cream for tacos!

This is one of the reasons I keep her around, so that she can point out these things for me pico, okay. Sour cream? No way! Sour cream makes me ill, so I'll pass, thanks

Mmmmmm tacos! I love Mexican food! You are a nice guy! My husband is nice this way too but when he is nice like this he says "I'm a great cook! Whatever you feel like eating I can make it! I just whip out my credit card and voila!" Oh he's hilarious! Anyways, I hope your dinner was good. We had McDonald's - not my choice really but we were in a hurry today and the kids were all dying for it.

And so sweet of your wife to give you the $5 discount card. :o) Sounds to me like you have a very nice, smart wife. Any yes, my husband would have done the same thing you did, if he were still living; and I would have done the same sweet, smart, kind thing that your wife did. Hope you all enjoyed your tacos. Nana

Thats really cool to know that you and your family went for a tacos dinner, thats really nice but when you people are together why is it like you and your wife have separate money.. dont have any kind of separation between spouse.. well your really a nice guy .. my dad and mom are not taking me out and even my boyfriend is in abroad..

It's not really separate money other than mine is in my wallet and hers is in her purse. If I pay then I will just be broke faster than she will, which would make her laugh. But, if I were broke she would give me money and if she was broke I'd give her money

Hehehe you will find that we women are always volunteering our men to pay for stuff or just generally do stuff. I think it's becuase we know that men are unlikely to volunteer themselves, not becuase they aren't generous or are lazy but just becuase they don't really think to do it! Hope you enjoyed those tacos and keep being nice!

My husband rarely suggests going out to eat, maybe because I am such a good cook. On the rare occasion when he does offer to take us out to eat I am thrilled. Going out to eat is a big treat for anyone who cooks every night of their life. It is wonderful to occasionally enjoy a meal that someone else has prepared.

Well tonight I made chicken salad (+) but I forgot to go back to the store to buy more milk (-) and then hubby was making fun of the fact that I was eating hummus again (-) but he didn't mind when I wanted to change the channel and not watch any more depressing news (+). Then he and the little one fell asleep (+) and I have been able to play around on mylot (+). I think there were more plusses than minuses today.
