I will let my kids help me in the kitchen cook dinner or help with theirs. I know what is dangerous and what isnt so I always take precautions when they are in their with me. I have been told by my friends that is a invitation for danger. That kids could really hurt themselves and that they should just eat what I give them. Well my kids are picky so I try to let them help me fix dinner because if they help mommy then they will actually try to eat it. It works sometimes but it still makes them feel important because I valued their opinion. I have taught them the rules of the kitchen and they abide by them. It fun to have helpers and it gives them a feeling of accomplishment. So what do you think, would you let your kids help you in the kitchen.

I let my son help cook sometimes. He really enjoys it. Even if you just let him grab all of the ingredients for you. He is 8, so he is getting to do new things in the kitchen all the time. My 17 month old daughter is even wanting to start helping already.

Yes I do let my children help out in the kitchen sometimes, I always give them the easy jobs so as to avoid Dangers.... My children are picky eaters too and when They help they do tend to eat better because they have helped prepare the meal.... They are proud of themselves too of what they have acheive, which boosts their self esttem which is great.... There are many things children can do to help out with in the kitchen without being in Danger and they learn too, so I think it is beneficial for them....

I let my kids help all the time. My 8 year old son can bake brownies like no one else. As long as you are being the responsible parent then it doesn't matter. How are you going to teach them about dangers without letting them experience first hand. This is where a lot of parents think that you can't over protect your child but I feel so differently from this. I say spend that quality time with your kids and have fun. Your kids will remember it when they are older and will do the same with their kids.

I'm extremely cautious when I do. I only let my six year old help out my two year old will try but he is too little. I enjoy baking with my daughter cause there isnt frying and pans on the stove involved, so I dont mind her helping out.
