Probably a split between CNN and Comedy Central. But it depends whether it's the off season or not. Often I'll be glued to HBO for Rome, Deadwood, and The Sopranos.

When I watch TV (I prefer renting DVDs) it is with my wife. She is from Russia and sticks with Lifetime - murder and infidility are universal themes so she can understand the plots. But she hasn't had enough experience with American culture yet to follow the plots of shows on the other channels.

Hi
We used to do the same when my wife first came to the UK because her English was not too good.
We used to put the subtitles on the bottom so that she could follow the plot.
One day when she was in the kitchen fixing dinner, so popped her head around the corner and said....
"Ha, I understood every word of that!!"
It was a murder plot and the scene that was taking place was in someones house and the TV was on....
I said......
"Darling that was the BBC.... the only people who speak proper English like that is.... the BBC and the QUEEN !!!
She is faboulous now though !!!
