Did you watch the movie first? If so, are you reading the book now?
Did you even see the movie? If so, was the movie a good representation of the book?

I've read the book first, and I most say that it was one of the best books, I've ever read, so I just needed to have more, and got started with the second book right away, and now I'm waiting excited for the third book to come out. When I heard there came a movie I was very excited, but then when I went to the cinema to watch it, I became very disapointed :( .. especiatly by Saphires voice, it just don't fit to a dragon, and Eragon, in the book they speciatly say that he was a boy with brown eyes and brown hair, not blue eyes, with blond hair.. And the Urgals where were there horns!! of which the drawrf's make their bows from?

I read the book first so the movie was second. I was so enthralled with the book that I was very disappointed with the movie. It really didn't follow the book all that well in my opinion but it was a good movie if it stood alone. Unfortunately many movies that were books are like that.

I watched the movie first and a few years after (2006-2008), I bought Eragon and Eldest because I don't have any new books to read in a while because Harry Potter series is already completed and I've already read all the books. I enjoyed the movie but I found the books more interesting. I'm looking forward for a movie of Eldest. I'm currently reading Brisingr.

The book came first for me, I'm a big fantasy reader, and I enjoyed Eragon, and the other two books, Eldest and Brisingr.
I've been meaning to watch the movie, but I don't think movies based on books capture the book's spirit, especially as they have a limited timeframe, but novels can be read at your own pace.

My sister was big into the book and when the movie came out we went to see it. My brother, who doesn't read at all (just doesn't read, not can't read) liked the movie. I liked the movie too but I was told it skipped a whole lot of stuff and swapped a bunch of other things around.
After reading the book I agree. They skipped a whole heck of a lot of stuff. Books better imho.
