Many people on my street decorate their homes for holidays. They transform simple houses into the north pole, a haunted house, or a cupid's haven. The only holiday I really enjoy decorating for is Halloween. I am one of the people who carves pumpkins, hangs spiders, has witches flying into the chimney ect. Do you have a favorite holiday to decorate for? If not, have you seen any amazing displays? What are your ideas/favorite websites especially when it comes to halloween?

We did a lot of decorating when I was younger. We decorated for Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentines Day. now that I'm older and not home much, we really don't get to decorate much and I kind of hate it. I loved decorating for Halloween and I loved carving the pumpkins. Sometimes we get to decorate while I'm in school but not often.

Only for christmas, and then it's only basics like a small tree, tinsel round the fireplace, decorations on the living room ceiling, cards srong up on the walls We don't exactly go to town, but then again we don't have any kids so it would be a little wasted, and we tend to go to my parents at christmas anyway. We don't really celebrate Halloween over here in the uk that much (a bit of dressing up and trick or treating for the kiddies maybe), and i've never heard of any one decorating their house for valentines day over here.

When we were little my grandparents would always decorate the house for all the big holidays, inside and out. My parents decorated inside and sometime put up lights outside for Christmas. I now have my own house and actually went two years without even putting up a tree. Now that we have a family we decorate inside a little. The basics, a tree, stockings, maybe some lights. Otherwise we tend not to decorate very much at all. I just don't like the work and the kids like ripping it all down because that is what little kids like to do I guess.

I understand that, when I was little, my mother tried to instill a love for decorating (and a respect for the decor) by having us help put it up. Then it was MY pumpkin and if anyone touched it I got quite upset. This helped control the destruction a lot.

I tend to decorate for every holiday, only on a small scale. A carved pumpkin for Halloween, a mini tree for Christmas, a dozen roses for valentines, etc etc. The big way I celebrate holidays is through food. Tons and tons of great and tasty food. You can be beat delicious flavors!

I love Halloween and have lots of fun decorating my home for it. Nowadays, you only have to go to the store to find a huge array of halloween decorations from classy to quirky. There is something for everyone and I am amazed at the more elaborate and expensive items now available to decorating your. There are now even Halloween Super Centres that pop up temporarily for Halloween.
