yawning contagious thats a fact! but can you control it?

when you see someone yawning you will find yourself yawning too. it is something that is contagious. have you tried yawning and watch how many people will yawn, you will find it funny for you had cause a chain reaction of people yawning har har har. im sure just reading this discussion will make you feel like yawning. there is also a interesting fact that 55 percent of people yawn within five minutes after seeing someone yawning. but can you actually stop or control yourself not to yawn? if you see people around you yawning can you control and not yawn back?

I think yawning does spread and yes you can control it. I find it to be rude when you're talking to someone and they yawn. IU have found myself yawning when someone is addressing me and I've apologized for it. You just need to concentrate on what your doing and the yawning(boredom) will subside.

well sometimes it is easy to control yawning than boredom har har har. when you are in a sorroundings or meetings that you dont know anybody and teh speaker is really not that enjoyable to listen then it is much of a battle to control boredom than to control a yawn that you can feel coming. thanks a lot for the response

I do know if it was coincidence but I was in the middle of this post reading, I caught myself yawing..LOL! Anyway, I always observe that and I remember when we have our meeting before and it will be very boring, One will start to yawn of course by covering the mouth or our head will caught us..LOL! and everyone will follow..It's funny..
I do know how and why it's like that...it's like when someone is bringing green mango with vinegar and sauce...Everyone will be swallowing their saliva! LOL!

har har har, so it is a success har har har. reading about yawning can make people yawn. just like what you said that when you bring a plate of mangoes everyone will have a saliva reaction with it. not much for me because i am not a green mango eater. but i know that theory is true, you dont need to bring a plate of green mango just tell people you want to eat mangoes and the y will have that reaction. thanks a lot for the response

actually this is really funny but true. when you watch my children watching tv then you see one yawning observe and you will see the three nore yawning after a minute. then i find myself yawning too. i tried to control my yawn once but my ears did ache. i felt like it is going to explode. controling yawn is not really a good idea. lol. no matter how hard you control it you will still find yourself yawning when you see someone yawn

har har har pati anak mo ha! but yes it is funny to see the interaction. someone will yawn after someone did. there is something with yawning that will make you yawn too. parang ingit ba. it will make you yawn when you see someone yawn. thanks a lot for the response

I guess if you're trying not to yawn, it's pretty easy not to, but that's a pretty interesting fact. I'm really wanting to try this out now. Too bad everyone in my house is asleep right now, or else I would go around everyone and test this out, haha. I never really thought about people yawning after they see someone else do it, although now that I've read this, I can think in the past of a few times that this theory have proven to be true. I just didn't realize it until now, lol.

i hope you can get back to me to know if this is really effective, though i tried it not only once but a lot of time already. specially when it is getting late at work and everyone is tired i will yawn and someone will yawn after me and someone will yawn after the other. its like dominoes. thanks a lot for the response
