Studies show that if you use the dishwasher and fill it to capacity without too much rinsing you can cut your washing water by a 1/3.
You would have to do your own study to determing how much you save at your house, but washing dishes wreaks havoc on some people's hands. It's probably a matter of preference.

Yes, if the studies say so then they are right. But due to the fact that I have a small child at home I prefer washing them by hand. It makes me sure that they are clean enough.

I dont like using a dishwasher. For i feel its a waste of time. YOu have to rinse the plates or dishes before using the dishwasher and i feel in that case you might as well use a lil liquid soap and wash it clean. That saves you time of loading and unloading the dishwasher. I prefer handwashing all my dishes.

My point exactly. What is wrong in using the hands to do something useful.

Yeah I am. I don't like dish washers. I find the idea really weird and when I saw the result I was disappointed.

I wash my dishes by hand...that way I know, that they are completely clean..I haven't used my dishwasher in about 5 months..I don't like the spots it leave on my dishes..and they just don't look as clean,as they would if I washed them by hand.

Yeah! How about that? They have to be already washed when you put them in the machine.

Yes. I agree with these who like dishwasher only if you have a large family that has visitors all day, every day. But if doesn't that apply, then I do urge everyone to hand wash

Hand wash are best to keep dinner plates clean. Machine is just for fun. Dishwasher is good for nothing.

I prefer a dishwasher and I really think it tends to get the plates cleaner than washing them with the same dirty ol' sponge every time. Sponges harbor germs. Ick!

Here is something you haven't noticed maybe. When you hand wah the plates, you have to wash them twice in order to get all the germs off the plates. The soap used in the water and on the sponge is especially made for killing germs even from the first hand. Water is rinsing the germs off. And the last but not least, the sponge contains germs only if you leave it in the water and use it then. When staying in the waterfor a long time then germs start appearing. It is best to wash the plates and then rinse the sponge off with plenty of water and wash it once with soap and rinse it again with water. You have to be careful.Don't forget that the worst germs ever are the salts staying on the plates and in the dishwasher

Yes, that I forgot. You have to rins them first in order to put them in the dishwasher. So, why don't make 2 hands and wash them by hand anyway?

well, we don't have a dishwasher at home, but we can effectively remove the dirt and grime with dishwashing agent and a pair of hands --- such make a great pair, indeed.

Yes, you're right. They do make an excellent pair. Here in the neibourhood is like something had hit the ladies with dishwasher fever. And my mother had the discussion with my father. Funny, cause my father thinks we should buy one, and my mother today is on the other side, saying no.

Yup! I stand with you. I never tried using a dishwasher. It is till the best if you'll hand wash it...because you are very sure that is well cleaned.

I love my dishwasher! I have 4 kids so it comes in really handy. However, if I have a really greasy or caked on pan, I'll do it by hand.

That's what I'm saying. I think it's a total waste of money the dishwasher. You know it's absolutely clean, if you had done it by hand. And if you have kids at home it;s more important that.

Well, I don't like dishwashers. I feel like I'm doing the same job, only I don't have to do a second hand. It's better for me to hand wash the dishes.

Thank you. I defenetly prefer to wash them by hand. Here in Greece there is an add nowadays in the tv that says washing plates by hand costs moe than a dishwasher. Well, if that is true I want to pay more in order ro get them cleaner
