I have 5 emailboxes, and also i've registered lots of forums, blogs, bbs, chatrooms, god, countess. I didn't use the same one before, see, now i have trouble logging. Do you always use the same account and password for registeration? Oh you use categorize them, i mean, different accouts for different types?

Hi lynettebyc, i'm actually not as active as you for joining so many chatrooms and forums. I only have 3 email boxes. As these 3 email address are active used, so, i don't have the problem on forgetting the password. My main problem on managing the passwords is in my office, as most of the application and server need dual sign on, so, i actually write down all my passwords in one paper and keep it in safe :p

Hey, just12blog, you can call me lynette or lynn if you like , cause lynettebyc is a little long. Wow, dual sign, that's tiresome. And you'd better write down, once you forget it will make trouble to your work. Good luck.

Hi Lynn, yes, you are right. I'm not only write down all the passwords but actually i need to make sure that that piece of paper is with me everytime. I tried before, when i took leave and went back hometown, my colleague called me to ask for the passwords. Actually i did bring back the paper but it was in my working bag and so happened that the time he called me, i was not at my house. Oh My God, i so panic and i just simply told him and tried out one by one :p

Exactly different accounttypes for differet services. That is the best way for remembering. But keep on changing your password. There are lot of frauds in our online world

Hi! I used to do that too. I mean I just use a username and password that I thought of during registration. Now I dont do that anymore. My mail accounts are just extras and one of them is a result of a typo so I made another account again with the name I wanted. Later on, I found the typo account to be of some important use so its all good. With my paid sites I use only one username, family, friends, and school another username(which reminds me; i might make another account for all my schoolwork, its starting to clog up my personal family/friends account), and I have one for junk mail.^_^ I may have the same username for my paid sites but I definitely use different passwords. I change them up too sometimes. I have a system that I remember all my passwords and I dont use Roboform or any other software.^_^

well, Im sure you'll remember that in no time. Just try to 'relive' your registration and try all of the passwords that you might use. I keep a notebook of all my usernames and passwords in all of my accounts. Even if I know most of them Im bound to forget one or two so just to be sure I write them all down.^_^ Why not keep a notebook too, or maybe you can use Excel in Microsoft Office? Hope that helps, goodluck!^_^

Hey, thanks, bjcyrix, i will. And i think Microsoft Excel is very good too. I'm now using roboform but i'm not so familar with its functions. Any way it's very good. I guess i should also use another notebook to write down password during work. It can be messed up and should always be in order. I live by work, if i carelessly lost the password and leave a bad impression to my boss, what's gonna happen?

writing down your username and corresponding password always helps. if you're afraid others might find their way into your journal or whatever it is you're going to use you can put a sign or a code that only you know how to decipher. a good memory always helps.
i too, registered to a number of websites but i use one username and same password except here on mylot. you should be careful you don't mix things up and completely forfeit your registration.

I have about 15 different email addresses but I only use 3... One's for just sigining up stuff on internet so I get all the junk mails there, one is for work & the other is for personal use... As far as passwords go, it's same thing just different variations... I have different user names for different accounts but they're fairly easy to remember because there's only 3 different user names, sk66rc being one of them... It's also same with one of my email accounts...

Thanks, sk66rc, wow, 15 different emails! So, which kind of emailbox do you think is better? You're smart, use the same emailbox to register. Thanks for sharing, and now i know what i should do:)

I've had hotmail.com, inbox.com, bluebottle.com, aol.com, yahoo.com, msn.com, verizon.net, gmail.com, mail.com, comcast.net, & few others I can't remember at the moment... Currently, I use 2 aol addresses, one for work & one for personal, & yahoo for junk mails... I don't know why, I just like aol better... Yeah, having an account set up just for junk mail is great... Basically, I only log into yahoo email address once a week just to clear it...

I always use the same logins and passwords for everything unless the website or page requires something weird. Even then I try to use the same thing but maybe capitalized a letter or something depending on what it requires. Otherwise it gets pretty confusing especially sites that don't allow you to save login info or for websites that you don't visit often. Also I have a lot of websites that are used for working, some of those are assigned so I have to write those down so that I can remember them.

When i see the topic,i want to come in to tell you,why not only using one?5?you just didn't use the same?I think then you will note in a book, which mailbox with which account,usernane,password.....you are so strong,in good memory, indeed. And if it is long and complex,it's safe.

There're many reasons i use 5, i used to have one. It's @163.com, a Chinese website, and sometimes it's very slow, then i heard from my friend that sohu.com is very quick, then i registered one. Also a Chinese one. But when i registered foreign forums, it may not get through, and i also heard that gmail.com can chat on line, msn.com for webmessenger, i like chatting with friends, you know. And i have one for work. And i registerd a common email together with my friend to open an online shop, which we still haven't done anything yet. Oh, may be more than 5 emailboxes

It was not suggested using same username and password , for if you lose one you will lose all.
There are some professionally tools that can manager account info for you.You also can do it by yourself, it's easy for you to write all account info by notepad.

I always try to have the same password because thats what I need to remember the most.
It doesn't work well that way since everybody has slightly different rules.
So, I keep a notebook with a list of all the sites I'm interested in, the ones I join, the ones I put aside for the future, its like a job by itself.
But I do have a lot of similar passwords.

I am as you have a lot of mailboxes, blogs, forums, etc.
I use for that 5 user names and passwords, I mean every username have its passward, then at this case I can remember it all the time.
Try to use this way it is a good one.
Have a nice day.

Yes, I've encountered the same problem before. But now, I manage to write down all the information in a notebook, so I can check if I forgot any of it.
BTW, there is another way that help. Firstly, you can catogerise the website base on the purpose or other criterion, and register with the same username and password based on the catogery.
